Arrival Story: Sawubona! (That's IsiZulu for "hello!" My ancestors guarded their families and even hunted lion in Africa.) I used to live with a couple, a small dog and I had my own little boy; I ate whenever I wanted to, and I loved life. I had really long nails and I smelled, and people said I was "fat," whatever that means; they loved their little dog more, but I loved my little boy! And, I never had to go to the vet for pokes and shots, nor take a nasty bath - life was grand! But one day this guy form something called "Rescue" stops by, takes some pictures with a flashy box thing, talks to my people, takes notes and leaves.
A few days later my man puts me in the back of his truck, a bit scary because I'd never been in one, and drives me to a place with interesting smells - it says "MacDonalds" on it - and the "Rescue" guy takes my leash, puts me into a car and takes me to a strange house with new people. I was really frightened, it was all new to me. You can see what I looked like then...

Bio: Sadiek fit in and soon, with the help of saltless string beans got to her proper weight - she loved her walks, she had her bath and nails cut, her coat gleamed, and she fell in love with Güero, the other Ridgie in the house. Life was sweet! Her main photo shows her at her prime.
One day her nose was bleeding a little and we took her to the vet - after a CAT scan it was diagnosed as nasal carcinoma, and Sadiek was treated with radiation therapy - such a sweet dog, she would arrive at UC Davis Hospital wagging her tail every time!
We thought it was all working -she had hair loss and was fatigued, but that goes with radiation. One day, her mistress became quite ill; Sadiek stayed by her side several days until she began to get better, and then Sadiek collapsed suddenly. She had been living through sheer force of will, as her body was riddled with cancer.
Sadiek means constant, faithful in Arabic and Turkish - the name suited her to a tee, and she will be remembered for her unstinting and full love.

Forums Motto: My name says it all - steadfast, loyal
