Yesterday was Kaya's 13th birthday! She celebrated with a swimming trip and mini 'cake' made of pumpkin and dog treats. No new toys since she has dozens already, but we brought out her old mousy and sheep toys that she hadn't seen forever and she was very excited to see them! Kaya has officially become a teenager and she is still having fun and enjoying life. If she were a human, she would be starting grade eight in the fall, that's a long time! Happy Birthday Beautiful!
I found this poem that I wrote in grade nine, I think, so it's no longer acurate with her age or anything but I thought I'd post it:
Kaya
Imagine a beautiful woman, with hair as white as snow,
Imagine that she looks up at you, and her eyes just seem to know.
She smiles a smile you just can’t resist,
And the next thing you know, you’ve been tenderly kissed,
By a creature you thought, that couldn’t exist
A creature that just seems to know.
She knows what you’re thinking, you tell to your friends,
They nod in agreement, the fun never ends,
With your ten-and-a-half-year-old, wait! 74!
Young yet old lady, asleep on the floor.
Asleep? Wait a minute, she’s opened her eyes,
Lifted her head, and what a surprise,
She’s awake! And she’s watching you, wriggling with glee,
You can tell that she’s thinking “They’re looking at me!”
For a dog’s greatest pleasure, you will soon see,
Is your attention, love, an occasional pee,
Kisses! Food! Toys and her ball!
But absolutely, most of all,
Having company from one and from all.
Imagine this beauty, looking at you,
Expecting your greatness, she knows you’ll come through,
For you’re her big sister, her master, her friend,
And she will be with you, right through ‘till the end.

5. I have recently decided it is much nicer to sleep upstairs with my pawrents then downstairs by myself, my hoomans dutifully carry my bed up every night.
6. I get a yummy treat from my skin sister every morning before school, or I will sulk extra hard.
