A Little DownAugust 8th 2008 8:02 am[ Leave A Comment ]
Bailey cannot type right now so she has asked me, MOM, to do it for her. Last week Bailey was not feeling too well and went to the vet for some X-Rays. During her exam a disc in her neck ruptured resulting in complete paralysis from the neck back....all 4 legs included. The always dreaded Doxie IDD issue. After rushing to the Bay Area Veterinary Surgical Specialists in Houston, she had emergency surgery to clean out the rupture and fenestrate 4 other discs in her neck that were abnormal also. (Thank you Dr. Dailey for your wonderful care and expertise.)
1 Year of Therapy!March 30th 2008 12:20 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
NO, not MY therapy!!! I don't need therapy…..I am very well adjusted thank you very much. I have to be with all the comings and goings around HERE! It is my 1 Year of being a Therapy dog! I still go to the Nursing Home and Mommy's Hospital. I have gotten very good at the hospital. It does not scare me at all now and everyone loves me so much. I have made good friends with all the other dogs. There is even a big bird that goes.....he does monkey noises....I like monkeys. Maybe I will get to go more places. I told mom I can go more but she hasn’t let me yet. We'll see.
Bonnie LassMarch 25th 2008 2:04 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Holly's blanket is still warm and in comes a NEW sister. Bonnie Belle is what Grandmama has named her and I am NOT really sure she is a Doxie. I have never SEEN on this small. She only is 7 1/2 pounds Mom says and is full grown. She was lost and taken to the pound...the same one Chloe came from so I sure am glad we got her out of there. She is very small but very bossy. I don't really mind...everyone knows I am the Queen. But I guess when you are that small you have to make sure nobody steps on you. We are showing her the ropes though. Sam taught her how to use the dog door and I explained that if she doesn't eat all her supper we will finish it when she walks away. That took her a little while to understand...hehehe. But she has it figured out now....too bad. We are having fun of course as we always do. Mommy says she is very cute and pretty...a true Mini....and someone will adopt her very soon.
Holly's HomeMarch 22nd 2008 12:52 pm[ Leave A Comment ] My new sister Hollyberry got her new home for Easter. We went to Oklahoma for the holiday and dropped her off in Dallas on the way. She has a cute new brother and a nice lady for her mom. My mommy says she hear from them and Holly is very happy with her new life and having lots of fun and getting lots of love. That is good. She was a special friend and we miss her. But I am glad she has her OWN brother to herd around...because I want mine to play with ME again!!! Sam sure did throw me over for her....I will make him suffer a little bit I think. I really forgive him....but don't tell. Not quiet yet anyway.....
Clover DayMarch 17th 2008 8:24 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Sam said to tell everyone that today is HIS birthday!!! He is 2 now!! Chloe came over and brough him some of her pate' and we all got to have some!!! Holly is NOW thinking she needs to get in ont his birthday thing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!!!!
Chloe's on the mendFebruary 29th 2008 4:15 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Well, my new friend Chloe is getting better every day. I think Grandmama is spoiling her more than me, but she really needs it more than I do. (I am very generous that way). She is getting a special bath every few days and now her fur is growing back in and is nice and soft like mine. She is also getting special food to help her fur and skin and getting a special tea time treat of pate'......as any elderly lady would like. All that is plumping her up nicely to her normal weight but she is getting her morning walks every day so she doesn't get TOO plump. She comes over to visit now but has elected to stay with Grandmama and Grandpapa until she is adopted. WE are too busy and jumpy at my house Mommy says. He mouth is all healed and we have disc0vere that after having the infection all cleaned out, she is the best sniffer of all of us. She could smell and earthworm across the street!!! Chloe was as surprised as anyone. She said she hasn’t smelled ANYTHING in such a long time. She is so happy to be rescued from that horrible pound and so pleased to have a place to snuggle now....she really likes pillows. She hopes her new family will find her soon, but for now she loves where she is!
Poor ChloeFebruary 5th 2008 3:39 pm[ Leave A Comment ] We got a new Pup today from Rescue. We named her Chloe. She is staying at my Grandmama's house instead of ours. She was very sick and neglected and older so she needs some quiet time. He nails were curled under (very painful to walk on) her teeth were all falling out (she only has about 10 left now), her mouth was so infected from her bad teeth that it had filled up her sinus passage and she could only smell infection. Her fur was missing from yeast infection and poor nutrition and she is very skinny. Not nice for a sweet lady of 10 years who WOULD look just like ME!! Mom says she is a very nice lady despite how horribly people have treated her and we are going to make her all better. I'm glad we found her.
Don't ForgetJanuary 26th 2008 1:07 pm[ Leave A Comment ] It's My birthday! Don't forget!!! We got yummy steak!!! YEA!!! Holly was very impressed and our tummy's are very full!
Deck the HowlsJanuary 2nd 2008 12:08 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Well, It is Chrissy-mas again. That yummy time of year when I get to guard the Peanut Brittle we make..... and guard my Santa Bag. I know just which one it is too because I can smell it under the tree. Nobody better get near my bag!!! It is tiring to guard it all day for weeks until I get to open it....but when the time comes....it sure is fun to play in all the paper and pull out all my stuff!!!
Stuffed!!November 28th 2007 2:02 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Well, we went to Oklahoma for Turkey Day. Sam was fascinated and excited by all the smells in the woods. It was his first trip so I had to show him all around. I shoed him the Pecan Tree and the Cedar Tree and the Oak Tree. I showed him the squirrel and possum and skunk and deer smells. I showed him all my favorite roads to walk down and the lake and the dam. It was very cold up there though. We had to wear our sweaters! Bbbbrrrrrrr!!!!!! It was below FREEZING Mom said. Well, Sam really wanted to get to play in the lake, but we told him no way….too cold. He’ll have to wait until Spring. What wonderful smells in the kitchen though. And boy did we get to have some yummy things to eat……I just LOVE Turkey Day!!! And now Sam loves it too.
