Arrival Story:
When I was about 3 months old, and literally starving to death. My owners found me. My joints were sticking out so bad; I almost looked deformed. They walked me around the park for three days, when no one claimed me; they decided to take me in. "The rest is history "as they say.
As a puppy I developed mange - and if anyone has ever seen it - it can be devastating. The vet told my new parents they would have to "put me down", because it was located around my eyes and mouth, but they wouldn't hear of it. With love and a lot of work, I healed quicker than my doctor thought I ever would.
I love to do tricks - but only for food. Just A FEW of my tricks are to be hypnotized, fall over "dead" when shot, (by a finger), jump through hoops, grab onto my mom, like any 2-year old does (with my front paws), and I can count with my paws.
Folsom Police Chief Williams swore me in as their first (and only) Honorary K-9 Officer when I was 2 years old.
I'm so well behaved, that I've traveled to several states with my owners, and stayed in several hotels that normally don't allow dogs.
This year I totally blew my CCL. It was very painful, and had surgery at 12 + years old. Several people think my "mom and dad" are nuts for putting so much money into me at my age, but they told me I'm the best dog they ever owned, so they want to keep me around as long as they can! I get to stay in "Mom's office all day, while I'm healing. I'm very sad about not being able to run and play like I used to, and "Mom" worries about me a lot.
A friend showed me a Smithsonian Magazine with photos of dogs from the south. Hey! I look just like those dogs called "American Dingo"- only more handsome! Recently "Mom and Dad" decided to find out my roots with a DNA test. The results were surprising. I'm part Cocker Spaniel, Shiba Inu, and 1/2 Siberian Huskey!

I had to go back to see the surgeon, because this time I started limping on my right leg. Another completely torn CCL! They operated Tues 09/16/08.
It's ok. Mom is already taking me for short walks every day. We've been walking since Monday - I feel so much better than when I had the first surgery in May.
They also removed a lymph node that was inflamed and swollen on the inside of my left leg. The lab tests came back clear!
Why do humans cry when they are happy? Mommy cried when she heard I was ok! No cancer - the vet said it was a reactive problem (maybe I was allergic to the sutures from my first surgery?)
I go back to get my sutures removed from both legs October 1st.
Mom is taking me for a walk late tonight when it cools down. I can hardly wait!
