Arrival Story: We came to hear of Kia, a dog who lived chained to the side of a local store, and of whom needed a home. We then heard of her again and again and decided we needed to go meet her. She was wrapped around a pole and could not move. When we told the store employee she could have cared less. So we unwrapped her and she was thrilled. Happy and playful as ever. Her owner wasn't around so we left. The thought of her tore at our hearts and we turned back around, this time to find her owner was now there. He informed us she was not potty trained because she had never lived in a house and at the age of 9 months did not even know her name because of the lack of interaction with her! When she started to chew at my wife's pant legs the owner handed her a piece of wood from the wood pile that was her living space. It started to rain and so we left. Needless to say we went back the next day to bring her home to our family.
