Arrival Story:
In 1992 we moved to Colorado and decided we needed a dog (we had two before we moved who we were forced to give up). We went to the humane society and found three adorable two month-old red puppies. I was only seven at the time, but my parents told me to choose which one I wanted. Which is when one of the puppies came directly towards the gate. I knew he was mine and soon we were driving home with our new puppy, Duke.

Bio:
On September 6, 2004 at the age of twelve, Duke was put to sleep after his liver failed him and he began bleeding into his stomach. He suffered for a very short period of time. I know now that he's waiting for me on the rainbow bridge, no arthritis, his coat bright red, playing with the other dogs.
