Arrival Story:
I had been an ACD owner for many years but had to put my old Buddy down after 21 yrs of his loyalty.. When my wife and I got married we wanted dogs and nothing short of a heeler would do.. We answered an add out of a news paper and drove an hour to see him.. There were two males left, but Duke was the one, he was marked very much like Buddy had been... He went home with us that day and became the first ACD child in our marrige...

Bio:
Duke lived to heard and it didn't matter what to him.. Cattle, horses, goats, other dogs, humans it just didn't matter to him as long as something was moving in front of him... some of his favorite things were tires on the four wheeler, go cart, lawn mower or bike. Duke was a heard dog and when he got board he would some times even heard ants with his nose.. On march 31 st Duke escaped from his outside kennel and in doing so tore his collar and tag off. I was out of town on work and my wife scowered the country side in which we live, but Duke was nowhere to be found. He has left a large empty place in our home and in our hearts. We of course don't now if Duke is still alive or not.. My fear is that in his older age he had become a bit on the snippy side, especially around children, so I am afraid that since we could not ever find him that one of the local land owners may have shot him... We live in horse country and he loved to work the horses, but not all horse owners like a dog working they're horses, especially if they don't know the dog... We miss Duke very much, and he will always have a special place in our hearts.. He was our first and the father of DeeDee & Dakota.. He did leave quite a legacy in beautiful pups..The bottom picture is of the first litter he fathered..
