Arrival Story:
Curly Joe is a southern boy. He came to me through my sister's friends in Louisiana. Curly Joe showed up at Pet Savers after someone found him outside a nail salon. They believe he was poisoned. He had some health issues afterwards (seizures, fainting) and as a result, no one wanted to adopt him. My sister and I have lost all but one of our dogs over the last year. Two to cancer, two to pancreatitis. Tank was the only one left, and he became horribly depressed. Luke died over a year ago, and, for Tank's sake, I decided to get another dog. My sister told me about her friend and Curly Joe, and as soon as I saw his picture, I knew we had to have him. He has been with us for a week now, and we're having a lot of fun watching him settle in. He and Tank sleep in Meathead's old bed and are usually pretty good about sharing their toys. I think they're still working out the pecking order, but they'll figure it out soon enough. He is a wonderful addition to our family, and I'm so glad we were able to get him out of the shelter and into our home. We embrace the misfits and the health challenged. He fits in perfectly.

Bio:
He was named Curly Joe because, as you can see in the first picture, his ears curled backwards. Over the last month or so, his ears straightened out and then flopped forward, but I'm beginning to suspect he has a lot of control over what his ears do. Sometimes they'll curl back, sometimes they'll flop forward, sometimes they'll stick straight up. No matter what he decides on, he'll always be Curly Joe.
