   Leave a bone for Cougar

Cougs, Poppet, Boofhead and 'Git outta the way ya dopey lug'

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:

Cuddles and kisses (I like to sneak up when Mum and Dad least expect it!), long walks along the beach, dinky dog treats, kittens to scare, cuddles, watching late night movies with Mum but no scary ones.

Scary movies, people mistaking me for a husky or malamute, kids that poke me in the face, old ladies squeezing my cheeks and people that lurk in the night after I've just watched a scary movie.

Favorite Toy:
My ball and kong, and kittens

Favorite Food:
chicken, chicken, oh and did I mention chicken?!

Favorite Walk:
The beach

Best Tricks:
I give THE best puppy dog eyes when I don't get my way and I can beg for food

Arrival Story:
We found Cougar in a litter of 8. His parents were both show champions in Australia although Cougar is no show off! He only wants to be cuddled not shown. He was the loner of the pack, but when he felt the need, he would run up and pounce on the rest of the playing puppies then just walk off proudly. Now who could resist a little terror like that?!

Forums Motto:

It was a beautiful day for the middle of winter, and Mum decided it was good enough to take me for a walk through the park. I love the park...I get to see all the kids playing and the dogs chasing their ball. I'm not allowed off my lead though, I'm too big and small children and older people get scared of me when I run up to say Hello to them! As we were walking through the soft green grass, I thought it be a good opportunity to take care of some business if you know what I mean!! I made Mum look the other way and when I was done, I don't know what came over me... but I decided it would be funny to start kicking it at Mum when she wasn't looking! I've never ever done such a thing before! My Mum really wasn't happy with me after that. We turned around and went straight back home and I got left in the backyard. When Mum came outside she was wearing new jeans and hanging up the walking pair! I got ignored until Dad came home and heard about the incident. I could seee him trying to stifle his chuckles and when Mum walked away, good ol' Dad came up and patted me on the head! Mum thinks its a little funny now but I can sense her nervousness whenever we go walking again. I really do think the sunshine made me do it!!! Til next time, signing off, Cougar (Steal Paws of Poo!!)

My tribute to Nash, my friend!

It was a beautiful day and Mum thought we would go for a walk. I love walks and was so excited to be out in the fresh air enjoying the views of people playing with their pets and being in the outdoors. Whilst enjoying my stroll, I wasn't paying much attention to houses we were passing and all of a sudden a dog came running out from a house and started barking. Me, Steel Paws of Thunder, knew what I had to do...protect my Mum. So I stood in front of her and looked at the other dog fiercly. That look must have meant that I wanted to fight! But I didn't!! The dog leaped towards me and latched onto my throat! I tried with all 4 paws to get him off me and calm him down through rational words but apparently he didn't want to listen. Mum was trying to pull me back and the other dogs owner grabbed his dog and gave him a small smack. As soon as he was safe and secure behind the fence, I let off a warning bark and told him not to roam the street again! I felt bad...I didn't do a very good job of protecting my mum, she could've got bitten. I felt sheepish and embarrased for the next 2 days. Mum and Dad knew this and thought it would be a good idea to call around their friend and bring her puppy, Nash the Boxer, to play with me all day and let me see that not all dogs are like the one who bit me. I'm doing o.k. now, Nash made me feel alot better as we played ball and rolled around together. He made me see that not all dogs are bad. Thank you Nash!
Signing off...Cougar (Steel Paws of Thunder)!!

Another horror movie!

Ok, so my Dad is asleep and Mum thought it would be a good idea to watch a movie. What kind of movie I hear you ask? A horror movie! Of all the things to make a 2 and a half year old to watch! I tried to escape outside but she lured me back with my favourite doggie snacks. She knows too well I'll sit through anything when I have beef strips to chew on. I laid infront of her so she wouldn't see me doze off, and just as I was dreaming of the cute bitch next door, I heard a scream. I woke up ready to fight off any intruders that may have broken in, when I realised it was the t.v.! Mum was laughing so hard at me that she woke my Dad up and then he started laughing too. Whats a dog gotta do around here to get some peace and quiet? I thought about building a bigger kennel outside away from the house... but then I realised I'd be missing out on all the cuddles and treats I get from my Mum and Dad inside. I think I can put up the scary movies and the loud screams just a little while longer!! I'll only sleep outside when its warm and quiet enough!!
Til next time...Woof woof and howl from Cougs ( also known as Steal Paws of Thunder!)
