Birthday: April 17th 2008 Arrival Story: Jake has found a great loving home, they are a couple starting out in life. And they wanted a loving dog to settle in with them. Now that he has a home, please think of helping out his brother Max. He is a great guy too.
Jake and his full brother Max came to my rescue from a friends rescue that got too full. They were given over to the pound from their owners, who said they were Beagle / Jack Russell Terrier mixes. Jake and Max have a look of finer bones, more like an Italian Grey Hound. So I am going to ask around a few professionals and see if they just might have that in them rather then the JR. (A lot of the times people own one breed of dog and she gets out and gets pregneat and they donÃƠ’Ãâà ¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚ ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬à ƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ÃƒÆ’Æâ€⠄¢ÃƒÆ’¢â‚¬Å¡ ÂÃ ¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¢ÃƒÆ’Æ’Ã ƒâ€ Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ÃƒÆ⠀™ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚à ‚¢ÃƒÆ’ĮšÃ‚¢ÃƒÂ¢Ãà ‚¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãâ⠂¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬ÃƒÆ’â€à ‚¦Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¡ÃƒÃ †â€™ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬ šÃ‚à ƒÆ’‚¬ÃÆà ¢â‚¬â„¢ÃƒÆ’†â€â„ ¢ÃƒÆ’‚Ãâ₠¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¢ÃƒÆ’Æ’ ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å ¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¬Ãƒà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚¦Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¾Ã ƒÆ’ĉââ €šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒââ⠀šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¢t know who the father is. And they just guess at what the other breed might be, I think this is one of those times.) Both these guys are very small, Jake weighs 9 lbs and Max weighs 11 lbs, well small for their breed lets say. They are much more delicate of bone then either a Beagle or a Jack Russell. Any ways back to Jake. He may be the follower in the games he and his brother play. But he is the lover of the two. He is a bit more quieter, and loves to either cuddle up with you after a good romp. Or if you have a nice bone he likes those too. LOL He would be great for some little boy or little girl. As long as they love to play games with their dog. His perfect home would be with someone he could have lots of time to play with. And at the end of a busy day, be able to cuddle on the couch with. Jake likes to be held by his owner too, he really just fits in any where. He will come to his new home with a set of two of the four puppy shots each puppy should have by the age of 6 months. He will also have had a flea and tic treatment, and is covered by Frontline until next month. He also has been de-wormed twice, so all he will need is to be given his rabies shot when he is old enough. And to be heartworm tested and put on heartguard. But his new owner will have to get those things done when he is old enough to do so. He can go on heartguard right now, but will need to wait till he is 6 months old to get a rabies shot. Any one who wishes to adopt Jake must be willing to send me their vet and or personal references. Hope to hear from you soon. Bio: Sorry should have thought about putting this in here. Jake is the guy with the cream colored patches on his coat. Max is the one with the cream and black stripes through his coat.
Max and Jake loved playing with their rescues daughter. They got along great, and she was a young girl of 4. So they really would be a good dog for any size family. They got fixed on the 21st so they should be ready for their new home around the 26th if they keep healing the way they have been. I've Been On Dogster Since:
Both Max and Jake are doing real well on their potty training. I have them crated at night, and they haven't once gone potty in their crate. So that is half the battle. We also put them in a sort of big kennel when we feed them separate from the others. And any time they potty in the kennel they always go to the other side of the kennel, and go in one spot. So they are pretty much training themselves. I really don't think it will take much to get them to be totally house broke.
Jake is doing well with us, he is a little less intense like his brother is. He loves to come up and get his petting's but he ask for them in a different manner. Max just begs from the get go, where as Jake will put his paws on you and wait for you to notice him. They both are joys to be around, they are so cute and unbelievably loving. They listen right away, and are learning what is acceptable and what isn't. I really can't say anything bad about them, they are such joys to have around. OK I know I am repeating myself, but I just can't explain it any other way. LOL Come see them for yourself, and then you will understand what I am trying to get at.
