Arrival Story: Kept a Pug mix for a few years to help out and decided I really wanted a Pug. Applied to the Ohio Pug Rescue and was blessed with Penny in June, 2004. Penny was being used for breeding and it seems that she was no longer wanted for that purpose and was given to the rescue organization. Ohio Pug Rescue spayed Penny and microchipped her. They gave her some needed dental work too. All of the pugs that are rescued by this organization receive the above mentioned services and attention to any other problems they may have. It is a wonderful rescue group. I am now a member and I hope to foster pugs soon.
Everyone should look up their local rescue groups when considering adopting a dog. There are many groups that handle specific breeds. These groups are also the best alternative when it is necessary to give up a pet. You can get information about breed specific rescue organizations from your vet, local pound, or on the internet.

Bio: Penny is my sunshine!!! She is very well behaved and even has manners! I wish more people would consider adopting older dogs.
Penny almost never barks. I have to find a western or horse races on TV to make her bark. She goes nuts and attacks the TV. Really funny.
She howls quietly when she hears voices on the answering machine. She will watch the door like a hawk if mom goes outside. I have caught her standing on the kitchen table trying to see out when I mow grass. Have to make sure the chairs are pushed in. Will lay by my head and watch me sleep. If I over sleep she will lick my nose when I move. No need for an alarm clock. If I really over sleep she will set her face on mine. Pug whiskers tickle!!! Her little snorts make me wake up laughing. She loves to cuddle but is careful not to disturb. Will sit at bathroom door if I am on the toilet but will not come in even if asked. Miss manners. I could not have expected a more loving, loyal, sweet, cute, and now happy little dog. Could go on forever about how wonderful she is. Never makes a mess. Never tears anything up. Never gets in your way. Makes me very happy!!!!! Okay, I will stop now.
