Arrival Story:
I'd been wanting a dog for years, just waiting for the right time and the right dog. Did a lot of research on different breeds, knew I wanted a small dog (having had a pekingese i adored while growing up)... Learned of the horrors of puppy mills/pet stores, so decided to look through Petfinder and the ASPCA- til finally I found the dog of my dreams! I saw her online at our local animal shelter, I went down to look at her- and took her home right away. I was so lucky to find her- she is the best dog ever! She is sweet, funny, smart, tenacious, curious, playful, and totally lovable. I'm thinking about getting her a playmate, possibly another schipperke if I can find one, or a rat terrier- but until we find that special friend, she will be the top dog
