Arrival Story:
For 6 years I begged my parents to let me get a dog and they finally gave in. We decided to go to GRREAT, the Golden Retriever Rescue Education And Training, because we had to give up our last dog, Woody, and they found him a home. When we first met Rocky, then named Cody, we knew he was the dog for us. He and I formed a special bond right away. We let him choose where he would sleep and he chose my room. Unfortunately, we don't know Rocky's background. He was found running lose, and his owner never came to claim him (We know he was not a stray because he was not in stray condition. We think he was only lose for a few days).Only God knows what he has been through. He is the sweetest, most perfect dog we could ever imagine, and he has become a blessing in our lives.

How to wake Rachel up

Today I woke up before the sun rose because I had to go potty. My girl, Rachel is a very sound sleeper, so she is very hard to wake up, but I can do it in two minutes, tops.
First, I walk around the room panting, stopping every now and then to see if she woke up yet. Then, I start scratching, and if that doesn't work I scratch my collar so the tag jingles. That usually wakes her up. But this time she was very sleepy, so I had to work extra hard to wake her up. I ran down the stairs a loudly as I could and then I walked around on the tile floor so my toenails clicked and made a lot of noise. Then I ran back up the stairs into Rachel's room to see if she was awake. She was.
Rachel is very grumpy in the morning, so she wasnt very happy when I tried to hunt down those big brown dogs with the long legs and white tails that can run really fast. She made me come inside so she could go back to sleep. I don't know why she likes to sleep when it's dark out. That's when it's the most fun. Besides, there is plenty of time to sleep during the day.

Today I had had to chase a dumb little orange dog out of my yard. I was very ferocious. I could have caught him if I wanted, but I just decided to let him hide in terror.
