OMD, what a surprise when mommy turned on her confuser this morning!! I have the Diary of the Day Award, and I didn't even have to bark a new diary! BOL!!! Already I had a blue ribbon from the Bama Babies, who are always right on top of evfurrything!

Thanks to my pal Freckles who sent me hugz and a pawsome piccie. I can acfurrily put it up on my page!!

I also got some balloons from rosco and his fambly, Mia Muah and the Minnesota Gang, Bizkit and her fambly, and Tessa and Fitzcairn! Thanks, pals!

The East Coast Hershey sent me a blue ribbon! So did Charlie and Abbie and their fambly!

These are hard times at Dogster, but we're still here! And we're grateful evfurry day for our pals who are still here, too--even when we can't see you!

I also want to Condogulate my pals Hershey (the "other" one, BOL!) and Charlie, who just flew to the Bridge, on being Daily Diary Picks today! WhooooHOOOOO!!!

When we woke up this morning, we found out I was a DDP! And my pal Cooper sent me a bootifur photo!!

Mommy always puts those in my photobook, so that's where we went next. And then we discovered, Dogster was under attack again! Grrrrrr!! So the gates have been locked most all day, and when we could sneak in, we couldn't add photos. So I'm saving it here! Thanks, Cooper!!

BarkPark

We had a doggie run, a couple of blocks from our house. It wasn't furry big, just a fenced-off part of lawn. But it was big enough to run around in, and we could go off-leash there. The lawn got worn away down the middle and sometimes it was so muddy mommy wouldn't let us go inside. Twice when we were in there, the sprinklers came on! Mommy had to run around getting us togefur to put our leashes back on because we were all confoosed, and we all got soaked. It got so we hardly evfur went there anymore.

We went by there on a walk last week. And we saw that the fence was down, and men were working there. At furst mommy was sad, she thought they were taking away our doggie run. But when we got closer, she could see that the men were acfurrily making it better! They had jump-ovfur stuff, and run-through stuff, and climb-up stuff fur doggies! And benches fur mommies! And a water fountain! OMD, this was gonna be great!!

Daddy was even more excited than the rest of us! This week, he and mommy started taking us ovfur there evfurry night when he came home from work. And evfurry night, it looked more and more finished. But it was locked.

Until tonight! Daddy is out, but mommy took us ovfur there, and we found other doggies inside, already playing!! I jumped ovfur a few things and through a few things! So did Winkie. Some of the other doggies were going up here and down there and through this and under that. But mostly we just sniffed each other and checked it all out. Mommy took some photos:

I'm writing this Thank-You letter to pals who may nevfur see it. These are Dogster pals that I made years and years ago, who haven't been here in a furry long time. Some of them have gone to the Bridge, and some have just…gone. I want to thank them fur NOT taking their pages down. I want to say...
Thank You that I can still go to your page and see all the gifts I evfur sent you.
Thank you that I can still read your diaries and laugh and cry, and remember the conversations and adventures we had in the Comments there.
Thank you that on my page, the gifts you've given me still bear your name and photo.
Thank you that I can still see your name and face on comments on my photos, and in my diaries.
Thank you that I still have all your paw-mails.
Thank you that I can go way back in group threads and forums and find your face, and remember fun times we had and advice we exchanged.
Thank you that, even though Dogster may not be part of your life anymore, you still let me treasure the Dogster part of your life that touched MY life. Thank you fur not erasing our history togefur. I wuff each one of you.

And to all my pals, I promise that as far as it is up to me, I'll never throw away your gifts and comments and photos you made fur me and all our memories, by pulling down MY page. I know it doesn't just belong to me.

Fort Fun!

You've heard me bark about Fort Fun a bazillion times, right? Evfur wonder what the woof I'm barking about? Well, if mommy did what she thinks she did, http://hersheybarks.blogspot.com/2014/04/fort-fun.html is a little movie she made when we went there last night! She thinks it's about 5 minutes long, so tell your mommies to get a cup of coffee or something, BOL!

I should say, those fire guys at the beginning were really rescue guys. They thought there was a hang-glider in trouble, but it was a false alarm. And the big birdies at the end aren't big birdies. They're hang-gliders!

A Dogster Day

A month or a year ago or something, we were thinking that when this weekend came it would be the end of Dogster. We were furry sad and furry frightened to become homeless! Some of our good pals worked furry hard and fast to build new houses fur us, so a lot of the scary went away. The sad is stickier, but we heard that Dogster isn't going away after all, so our tails are wagging! (Mommy is skeptable, but hey, we're dogs! We don't do skeptable!!)

Anywag, it occurred to me that I've never barked about my typical Dogster day. This seems like a good day to do that.

The furst thing I do is check mommy's e-mail. That's where I find messages if one of my Dogster pals has sent me a gift, or commented on my diary or a photo. That's so exciting!! The next thing is to send out my thank-you gifts or notes.

Next I go to the Community Page to see if any of my pals are having Barkdays or Gotcha Days so I can send them pressies! Some days there are only one or two, but some days the list is way long! How fun!! Today my pal Whisper, who is at the Rainbow Bridge, is celebrating his Barkday! Happy Barkday, Whisper!!

Next I look to see if I know the winners of the Dogster honors, Dog of the Day or Dog of the Week of Diary of the Day, and all the Daily Diary Picks. I'm so proud when my pals are featured!! I send them notes and pressies and Condogulations! This week my pal Sunny is the Dog of the Week!! And today four out of the five DDPs are pals of mine! Condogulations to Puff, Pepper, Daisy and Cinnamon!!

Now it's time to go to my groups! Furst I go to Furiends Furever, because I have a cafe there. It's called Hershey's Place. I serve breakfast and din-din there, and the pups and kitties like to come in to chat or play or nap. In the winter we have a big fire in the fireplace all day long. In the summer we open the pool, and there is also a lake just down the hill. It's always fun to see who might pop in! Walker and his fambly are there evfurry day, and Chauncey still visits from the Rainbow Bridge. While I'm busy in the cafe, Winkie likes to run through the other threads playing games!

Next I go to Princess Divas and Prince Charmings (PDPC). That's a furry fun group with lots of games and contests. Bailey and Buttercup work furry hard to update the threads evfurry day. They have Royal Members of the Day and Week, and they nevfur furget a Barkday or Purrday. Winkie and I always have a good time there!

About this time mommy will tell me it's time to let her do other things, like fight with the sucky monster or mess around in the kitchen. We also have to get our brush-and-walk. So we put the confuser away until later. Then it's pop in and out whenevfur we can between mommy looking at the teevee box and whatevfur else she does after daddy gets home. I like to see if any of my pals have added photos or diaries. I serve din-din at Hershey's Place, and I always check in at Pets That Love Fun. I have lots of groups here that I visit, and some I wish I could visit more often. And now there is also Pets4Pals and the Pupster/Kitster forum. I even have a blog. Mommy says it's all too much, but I say if she had her priorities straight we could do it all, evfurry day! I love Dogster and I always will. I hope Dogster lives furevfur!

Who Was That Masked Man?

Well, imagine that! Dogster isn't closing the Community after all! This is great news! We love Dogster, and we were SO SAD when they said it would go away. It's hard to know right now who rescued it, and how much of it they rescued, and whether evfurrything will stay the same. And we're sorry that some of our pals have already packed up and pulled down their own pages. Mommy felt like doing that sometimes, but just couldn't. We kept hoping, and we kept pawraying, and we said we would stay and go down with the Dogster ship on March 3. But now someone has put a cork in the hull, and we have more time.

We've learned some important lessons. Like save evfurrything as you go, back-up all your photos and diaries, and collect off-Dogster addresses from all your pals if you can. And some of our mommies and daddies have gone to work to make us new homes, like P4P and Pupsters and Kitsters. We won't be leaving those, even if we spend most of our time at Dogster, just like we have been.

Most of all, we were reminded how important evfurry one of our pals is, and how much smaller our world would be without all of you. We were reminded how much we count on you being there, and how much we value your knowledge and experience and support, and the way you make us laugh, and the way you challenge us to be the best doggies (and doggie pawrents) we can be. And we showed Say Media and the world that a real Community can nevfur be destroyed. AroooOOOoooooOOOO!!!! fur US!!!

Aftershock

It's been awhile since mommy helped either of us with our diaries. She was just about to, and then she says Dogster dropped a bomb on us. But I didn't hear anything. Anywag, she's been spending lots of time banging on her confuser and packing our Dogster suitcases so we can move somewhere else. Right now we're at a refugee camp: Dogster Friends with lots of our pals. It's fun ovfur there! We're learning our way around and even making new pals!

Today was sunny and dry again, the way it's been almost evfurry day since Howloween or something. We're not doing winter here this year. That means no splash-walks and towel-offs, which is fine with me!

Mommy let the sucky monster out of its closet today. I used to run upstairs as soon as I saw it, but Winkie just stays put and ignores it. I had to show him I'm as big a man-dog as he is! So now, I just try to stay on the other side of whatevfur room it's chasing mommy in. But today, befure it started roaring, my old friend Susan came to visit! She used to stay here with me whenevfur mommy and daddy went out, befure I was a Big Boy. I LOVE her!! I got lots of pets and lovin' while she and mommy went yakyakyak.

After she left, and after the sucky monster was done chasing mommy around and back in its lair, we went fur a walk. We didn't go far, because Winkie had to stop all the time and eat grass. He has days like that. Then we came back and mommy had her lunch and we all went to sleep!

My Gotcha Day!

Mommy thinks she's taking a BIG chance posting a diary entry, because Dogster is battling a monster flea that's eating up pages! But I told her it's my Gotcha Day and I need to thank all my pals fur the rosies and greetings. I'm putting my piccies up here, because we're scared of the Photo Manager. (Nobody is reporting problems with Photo Manager, but you have to understand how paranoid my mommy can be!) You can click on these:

Looky! I'm the Royal Member of the Day in PDPC! Thanks, Bailey

I got this one from Redford! Thanks, pal! That was me eight years ago, BOL!

This one is from my pal Freckles! Thank you!

I also got rosies from Buddy's fambly, TJ and Sox and their fambly, Whisper and Dixie's fambly, Tinkerbelle and Natasha, Zaidie, Angel Sunny and Zane, Cinnamon, Tango, Chauncey and her fambly, Harley and Jazzi, Abbie and her fambly, Hershey and his fambly, Romeo Beau, Cory Jo and his fambly, Sophie Claire and Harley Davidson, Peter Parker, Harley D. and his fambly, Droopy, Lord Pippin, Luna, Krickette, Whit, Buttercuppy, Abby and Lucian!

Mommy's giving me a "by" on my brushing today, and daddy said he's bringing me something spawcial when he comes home from work! The sun is shining and it's warm at my house, so we're getting an extra long walk. Mommy says I can stop and sniff as much as I want today! WhooHOOOOOO!!

Barkday, Part 2

Woof, pals! I have to tell you about the rest of my barkday! By the time daddy got home, it was furry foggy and cold! But daddy had promised, so we all got in the car and drove to Fort Fun. Even mommy came! The parking lot was almost empty, but we met a lot of nice doggies out on the trails. Mostly big doggies, BOL!! They were all furry nice!

After Fort Fun, we went to Petco! Daddy needed to buy us more food, and poop bags! Mommy said I could look at the toys, too! But honestly, I was more interested in the food and treats. They don't sell our new food, daddy found out. So he bought poop bags--and no toy--and from there we went to Petfood Express! Two doggie stores in one night! OMD!!

Once again, I was more interested in sniffing the food bags. Mommy showed me some toys, but I said, "C'mon, I'm eight years old now! I don't play with those puppy things!" Sniff!

So then we came home, and after daddy had his din-din mommy brought out a spawcial treat! She called it a Pup Pie, and it smelled SO good! I let her take one photo of me with it, and then she cut a slice fur me and a slice fur Winkie! I ate it so fast I'm not sure how it tasted! There will be leftovfurs fur four more nights!!!

Then today my Auntie Myrna came to my house to take me fur a walk! She has moved way far away and I hardly evfur see her anymore. So it was like a second barkday! OMD!!

So it has been a furry happy barkday! And now I'm eight whole years old! My pal Zaidie put the story of my furst barkday in his diary! (And my barkday twin Zoe's, too!) You can read it if you click here:
