My pawrents have a lot of traditions. Like once a year, they go back to the beach where they got engaged, a L-O-N-G time ago! Of course, I've been going with them fur the last six years. This year Winkie came, too! Here's how it works:

Furst, evfurrybody gets up, just like it was a normal day. Only, we don't do Bye-Bye Daddy at the door. Instead, he hauls bags out of the play-closet and loads them in the car. Then he and mommy load us! And then we drive, through the city and across the Big Orange Bridge, like we were going to the wine county. But when we get out of the car we're in a little town we only see on this day. We poke around there fur a bit, mommy and daddy get breakfast, then daddy gets picnic food and we all get back in the car.

When we get out again, we're at the beach! I used to be able to run off-leash, but now I'm not allowed. So mommy got me a big long rope that's just as good, BOL!! This year she tied me to one end and Winkie to the other, and wrapped the middle around a big log! Next, mommy and daddy picnic and we pester them, daddy gives us some treats, and then we nap while they play beach games. After awhile, we pack up and move on.

We don't go straight home. Daddy likes to drive the curvy, winding country roads, so we do that. Our last stop is at a place by the water that smells fishy. Mommy and daddy get still more stuff to eat (that they don't share!), and we get more treats.

Then we come home. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

Mommy says Daddy never really asked her to marry him, he just started talkin in future tense "when we are married". Then when they got the 'gagment ring, they went out to the mall parkin lot, got in the vehicle and Daddy asked, "well, aren't you gonna put it on?"

Hershey, that's so sweet! And BOL Zoe and Zaidie! My Daddy dragged my Momma to the top of a lighthouse to propose, which would have been super romantic if Momma wasn't terrified of heights and clutching on to the railing the whole time for dear life. She says she had her eyes closed almost the whole time and she didn't even realize Daddy was proposing cause she wasn't really paying attention to anything except not falling off the lighthouse! BOL!

Love the tradition........ I have one who is "romance-challenged" severely...........sigh.....

Fizzy..... Mum misses the sea desperately.. and collects lighthouses... and is SO green with envy !!!!!!
