I've been so busy the last few weeks, packing up my whole life and relocating the family to Canada. Great stress organizing the humans and making sure all my toys were packed, but it worked out fine and I am here! I didn't come alone. Dear Scruffy took the voyage in a crate next to mine on Air Canada 3 days before they decided to stop allowing pets on board. My family will never be travelling with them again, needless to say.
I guided Scruffy through Incheon Airport and introduced him to my grandparents in Canada. I explained to my gran and gramp that he is wild and not at all like me, so please be patient with him and of course they are. Luckily, Scruffy is an expert ear-cleaner and has been making up for his embarrassingly childish ways by keeping both mine and Chin Chin's ears sparkling fresh.
I also tried to show Scruffy to enjoy a splash in the Bay. Chinny learned quick enough last year though she is still much slower than I am (could be the kilos she's added since '06). Scruffy needs to be carried out into the Bay and then dropped so he can swim to shore! I don't do this, ma does. I, however, lead my pa to the sand bar and all around, like a fish.
Fishes need naps, too, by the way.
Good night!

I was at long last able to meet a little corral of dogs that my ma had been cooing about for months. Even though they live in my city, it took this long for us to meet. Why? My lazy ma doesn't bring me anywhere... Grrrr.
So last Sunday I met Wibi and his little brother Yoni, and their sister Pukka. Wibi has a Dogster page and you can read 7 facts about Wibi there.
Wibi is a romantic fellow who cares A LOT about his sister Pukka! Pukka is a lot like me, we both like to make our voices heard -perhaps I have some Mini Pin in me? No, Pukka is far more shiny black than I will ever be *jealous sigh*. And little Yoni is twins with Wibi only smaller, and he liked to kiss my pa! So cute!
I had a great time getting snacks and more snacks out of my friends' parents, I sort of wished they would adopt me. I liked playing on their blanket better, too, because Lazy Old Jasper was sitting on mine.
I can't wait for our next playdate, which I hope will be very soon! With any luck, I will sneak in a visit to their house where I hear they have 4 feline siblings who love to play, too!

I was tagged by the little sweetie Oso in Mexico. That's a far way to run!
I'll share 7 more Sage Facts, but I don't think I can find 7 more friends who I'm not too shy to tag back. Silly me! I did enjoy reading Smokey's and Oso's and Makena's and Hanalei's lists, though. Oh such adorable friends I have!
I will indulge myself by sharing seven more tidbits about me, me, me, if I can manage:
+ I like beer (or whatever I can lick off the empty bottles).
+ Ma sometimes wakes up and finds my head on her pillow and my arms sticking out from under the covers, exactly like her. I enjoy freaking her out like that.
+ I met a live toad last Thursday and didn't eat it, like my barbarian sista Chinny would've done.
+ My birthday is September 26th, I think, but we celebrate Birthday, Come Home Day, and Half Year Old days, too. Lotsa snacks around here.
+ When ma calls a foster dog and she doesn't come back, I shepard them back to ma. Sometimes.
+ I got a new temporary brother on Sunday. Welcome, Jasper!
+ In June I'm going to stay with Kyung Ah and Jake for one week while my folks take off to Shanghai without me.
I will try to find six more friends to tag tomorrow.
Tonight I will start by tagging CHIN CHIN.

Sage

Yikes! I was tagged by Hanalei!
Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don't forget to bark them a pmail that they hae been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
7 factoids about Sage E Poochers:
1) If anyone goes near the blender in the morning, I hide in the other room (scary blender)
2) When I toot out loud, I run away (scary toots!)
3) I have my very own 한복.
4) I do water retrieving, but won't fetch on land.
5) One of my only 2 housetraining mistakes was when I poo-pooed on a picture of George W. Bush!
6) After both the folks go to sleep, I hunt the apartment for buried snacks of cookies and paper.
7) Today, I'm going to a temple to celebrate Buddha's Birthday !
Happy Buddha's Birthday everyone!!!
Now tag the next 7 pups!
My tags:
*Chin Chin
*Scruffy
*Smokey
*Zoe
*Sophia
*Wibi
and
*Makena!
Chinny, Sophia, and Makena all got tagged before I got there, but I need to go out for a walk...

My ma has taken in another foster dog. Initially, I was quite dismayed. Again? Really? Why? Then after two days I decided he isn't so bad. Almost cute, even. I don't mind playing with him after my nap. I realize, too, that it is my duty to help train him, so I started with that.
The first step is always to demonstate why crates are so awesome, so I quickly enter mine and get into a comfy pose just to show how that's done. Then I show how to nap for several hours. Sometimes this technique backfires, mind you, but usually they learn to like their own crate.
Sometimes the following step is to lend my clothes, but luckily the new one has too much fur already and that step isn't needed. In his special case, I have to show him how to get into the elevator without trembling. Silly, isn't it?
Despite all my efforts to show these dogs how to relax, there is always a moment of exasperation when they go wild over something unnecessary. (Wish I could roll my eyes.)
In any case, I try my best. I'll let you know how this one goes and certainly take any tips if you've got any.

Well, I've had a nice few days even though my boyfriend left me. Without him the house is less active and fun, for sure, but to compensate I've gotten more beauty sleep and more treats from Ma.
Most recently, I got a new teeshirt. Ma says it's very flattering because the stripes hide my extra winter poundage. Pa, however, is determined to get me in shape, so he's been taking me out to "chase" his bicycle lately. Ha! Tricked him! Today he had to chase ME!
If you'd like to see my new teeshirt, please proceed to Page 5 of my Dogster Photo Album.
What do you think?
Yours,
Sage

I'm writing this for my ma. She is so excited about me being Dog of the Day, it couldn't of happened at a better time.
Just the day before, Ma went to bed crying because she's been seeing too many chained up dogs, hearing about lost pets, even got a nasty "joke" email that was just an image of cruelty to animals. (Why why why does anyone think that's funny?) Admittedly, she had not been spending enough time on Dogster.
Then since she heard I was Dog of the Day, if that weren't exciting enough in itself, we've just received a flood of the nicest, sweetest, most loving messages from new pals. Wow! That sure cheered her up quick enough.
I hope when Ma stops looking at the photos of all my adorable new friends I'll get some extra snacks. That empty yogurt dish next to her certainly looks good.
I'll let you know!

PS Scruffy (seen using me as a sofa in the bottommost picture) is set to have the pins taken out of his leg on March 26th. He's already faster than me, what then?

Scruffy and I want to say thank you to our favourite pup pals for the lucky rosettes!!
THANK YOU HANALEI and MAKENA!!
I'm watching over Scruffy as carefully as I can, trying to ignore him when he gets too feisty, you know, so he doesn't hurt his leg ... Ma says I get "grumpy" when he pushes me too far. Hmph.
Ma gets grumpy as well, though. Like the other day when she woke up with Scruffy sleeping ON HER HEAD!
But we're both very happy to have our own rosettes, I am getting tired of all the sharing! (I'm sure you two can understand).
Smootches to you two, too

I had a great Christmas. Lots of toys and treats, and best of all - mucho attention from my folks who are now on holiday! So much attention, in fact, that something more exciting than usual has happened:
Ma invented a new game!
She wanted to play something that could entertain 3 very different people: me, who likes to be chased but can't catch; Pa, who is addicted to Ultimate Frisbee; and herself, who hates sports. Thus, Ultimate Dogbee was born. Here is the low-down:
Requirements:
Players - 2 Humans AND 1 Canine (humans and canine are on opposite teams)
Equipment- One flying disk
Place- Big field with few distractions
Scoring- Human team gets a point when they get the disk to the other end of the field, I get a point when I get my schnauz on the disk anywhere, anytime, anyhow.
Method:
1) Everybody starts at one end of a big field.
2) Ma and Pa stand across from each other, me between.
3) Ma passes to disk to Pa, then runs.
4) Pa catches disk and passes back to Ma, who is "running" (that's what she calls it)
5) Ma drops disk, so I sprint to it.
6) I get disk and one point!
7) Restart.
8) Pa passes to Ma, who runs and actually catches disk.
9) Pa runs forward.
10) Ma throws disk to Pa, who misses 'cause it's way off.
11) Pa gets disk before I do even though I'm very fast.
12) As a penalty for dropping disk, Pa takes 5 paces backward.
13) Humans repeat passing and running until they get to other end of field, which rarely happens until I've amassed so many points thanks to Ma.
I inevitably win the game unless Ma "loses track" of points, but it's fun nonetheless.

Weekend Update: I'm happy to report that Crocodile, Moose, Dolphin, and Carrot are recovering well after surgery. All 4 toys had been lingering listlessly in the Intensive Care Unit above the washing machine for weeks.
"I couldn't fix them until today because they would've just been ripped apart again" said ma, in a feeble excuse to explain why the 4 toys waited so long for the surgery.
All the toys suffered surface wounds and loss of stuffing after a barbaric visitor ripped them apart in a furious bout of play. The visitor has since found a permanent home with toys of her own to demolish.
I supervised the surgery myself. It lasted about 20 minutes in total and ma did a fair job. Each toy must live out the rest of its days with visible pale blue scarring, but with NO permanently debilitating injuries.
