Adoption

Odin Update 8-26-05

Odin is still here with me, and still having some minor skin problems, but nothing we can't handle. He is a super sweet boy, and seems to really enjoy life and all of the love and attention he gets! Odin will continue to have skin problems, possibly his entire life. I am hoping with all of the medical attention he gets, that he will get older and grow out of this. Maybe his immune system will improve with age. Odin is due for another haircut, whatever mix he is has a long hair breed. He is fuzzy, and has a wire coat, I have never let it get too long so I am not really sure how long it could be, but he sure is CUTE! I am thinking some sheepdog maybe, it really gets long and covers his big blue eyes. Odin has wonderful manners, and is housetrained. He likes all other dogs and cats too! He is great with children, but HATES to have his feet touched! His paws are where most of the problems are, they are sore and red. His ears also continue to give him a hard time, but he doesn't mind them being cleaned and medicated. He will eat his meds right out of my hand, something I suppose he has gotten used to. He is a god boy for his baths, another thing he has gotten used to!

Goodbye to Gabriel

I ran into the family who adopted Odins sister the other day. I was informed that they put her to sleep, after deciding they no longer wanted to deal with her special needs (mange returned). They never called me, or anyone else at the shelter, to try to bring her back. They just put her down, maybe because of financial reasons. I would have stepped in and taken her if I had known, if they would have called.

Gabriel-
So sad to find out you are no longer here, with us on earth. I am sorry I did not find you a better home, where you would have had the chance you and all of your siblings who fought so hard, and deserved so much, to live and be loved. Your brothers and sister are doing well, this I am sure you know, right now maybe you are their angel, and watching over them. Your mom is also doing well, and finally in a forever home. Rest well at the bridge, and someday we will see you again. Hugs and kisses from Odin and me, lots of love being snet your way.........
