Arrival Story:
Dudley was turned into the shelter with 3 of his littermates. The others were adopted right away but he sat in the shelter for a couple of months. I offered to take 10 dogs to Iowa State to be spayed/neutered and someone accidentally sent Dudley along when he had already been neutered. After we dropped the animals off, Dudley had to come spend the day with me since he was already fixed. There was no way I could take him back to the shelter after having such a good day with him! He was so well behaved and had a blast and got along good with my other dogs so I decided to foster hime.

Dudley is a super companion! He is just over a year old - was born in May, 2004 and is a purebred black lab. He is a big boy and weighs around 90 pounds. He is calm and fairly lazy indoors but loves to run outside. He goes crazy for tennis balls and LOVES fetch. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is quite submissive around other dogs. He loves kids too but doesn't realize his size and can easily knock down little ones! He is extremely friendly to everyone he meets! So far he has only learned sit but would definitely need a family who is willing to take him to obedience class.
I require that his new home have a fenced yard to properly and safely contain him and he must be kept as an inside pet, and as a member of the family. He is already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his shots. Dudley is potty trained & crate trained. He loves to chew so he will need plenty of toys and rawhides & bones that he can chew on or else other ways to keep busy. If not, he will find other things to chew on!
