Arrival Story: my mom and dad were looking for a dog for a loooong time. they could not agree on the type or size, so it was a source of much frustration. dad wanted a big dog; mom wanted a small dog because she was afraid of big dogs. add mom's allergies to the mix, and you have a recipe for not getting a dog any time soon. weekly trips to the local animal shelters and many hours lost at work searching petfinder.com brough some possibilities, but no dog every stole their hearts - until mom found me online one wednesday.
she got excited the minute she saw me, and realized quickly that airedales were good dogs to have when humans have allergies to pets. so, once she got off work at 5, she rushed to the animal shelter to meet me. i was standing in my kennel, and looked at her and we both knew that we were meant to be together. my soon-to-be mom took me out of my kennel and took me into a little room. she talked to me and i sat and listened intently. i put my paw on her lap, because she was not petting me as much as i wanted her to :). she didn't want to leave me, because she was so afraid that someone else would take me home - she couldn't adopt me without having me meet dad first!
so, the next day, dad came straight from work. there were 10 minutes until closing time, and i was getting nervous that they would not make it in time. and, i had moved into a new kennel overnight, so it took them a while to find me. but, there we were! all three of us. we went outside to play and i ran around because i was so excited!!! i couldn't wait to go home!
so that was the beginning! mom and dad took me home, and discovered how much i love to ride in the car. we cuddled on the couch all night, and i knew i would be safe and loved forever :) Forums Motto: oh, murph...
