Arrival Story:
We saw Nellie's picture on the Ohio Basset Rescue website and thought she was beautiful. When she came to visit we loved her immediately and she made herself right at home. We adopted her that day and love her SO much. She likes to carry her food bowl around the house to find just the right place to eat. She has also learned to tip the bowl with her nose and leave just a little food on the floor as a decoy to anyone who might want HER food !

Bio:
Nellie was very malnourished and sick. She had been found wandering in the countryside, apparently dumped from a puppy mill and had recently given birth. Ear infection, kidney infection and you could count every bone in her body. Let's just say she has made that up over time ! In spite of how poorly she had been treated, she is a loving affectionate and beautiful basset. A pure joy. When you scratch her belly in the right place she gets both back feet going at the same time, hence the nickname "flipper feet".
