Leave a bone for Bullet

Nicknames: The Magic Bullet

Badges: Quick Bio:
Likes: Snow! and children and growling and RUNNING!

Pet-Peeves: Holding hands. He tries to flip my hand off his paw... twice. The third time, he picks my hand up in his mouth, moves it away and drops it.

Favorite Toy: A no-armed, one-eared brown bear that he's had since he was a pup.

Favorite Food: beef and frozen fishies

Favorite Walk: Anthony's Nose, part of Bear Mountain range

Best Tricks: pulling a sled, kissing and just sitting there looking beautiful

Arrival Story: I was devoted to cats, never thought I'd have a dog. I often went by my local shelter to hand out biscuits to the dogs. On September 19, 1992 I went to do the same old routine, but this time when I left the shelter I had a 58-pound husky in my car. My first puppy.

Bio: Bullet was diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 9, in July 2000. He underwent chemo and has been in complete remission for more than 4 years. He is now a 13-1/2 year old Husky with heart disease (controlled by meds since November 2002) and with a book dedicated to him! I released "Help Your Dog Fight Cancer" for sale on my website in July 2004 and it will be available in bookstores very soon. (Website: www.HelpYourDogFightCancer.com)

It's snowing tons today here in New York and the snow always makes me miss Bullet even more than usual. I'm very sad that Bullet isn't here to play in the snow with me or to just sit quietly while I watch from the window as the snow covers him, until finally he is only a bump in the white blanket of snow.
I wonder if it snows at the Rainbow Bridge.

I only just joined Dogster and sadly my first entry has to be the saddest. My heart is broken, my beautiful Bullet died in my arms on Saturday. He was the most amazing dog, partner, companion and I was so very lucky to share 12 years with him.
