Arrival Story:
We were Ruby's third owners in her first 9 months of puppyhood. She was found with her brother walking along the side of a busy highway. She was picked up by the spca and taken to their shelter. She stayed there until someone came along and adopted both her and her brother. The new owners had them for about 3 months, during which time they had them fixed. About a week after they were fixed they had to get rid of them based on a family emergency. They advertised Ruby in the paper as a chocolate lab, and the brother as a german shorthaired pointer. We were looking for a chocolate lab, so when we saw one that was so young, we went to take a look. We fell in love with her, although, it was obvious she wasn't a lab, as was advertised. I caught a glimpse of her brother through the picket fense and he looked like a GSP. The owners did not tell us that they dogs were related. We didn't find that out until we had to take Ruby back in to the Spca to check on her stitches. There we learned the whole story of how Ruby was found. They told us that they believed both dogs were lab/pointer mixed. We have had Ruby almost 4 years and we absolutely love her. She has found her forever home.
