He and his brother Poirot were our fosters and they were adopted and went to their forever home together. The owner called recently to tell us he was very ill and we told him we would be happy to take Pepper back and take care of him.

He is a little lovebug! He just loves to cuddle and give kisses. He is completely starved for attention and affection. We were happy to take him back and love on him.

My sweet Pepper Schnoodle was humanely euthanized this morning. He had been declining rapidly recently due to his kidney failure. He has been on fluids daily for the past year, since I took him back from his adopter after he suffered a heatstroke.

Even though I knew he was not to live to be very old and it would come to that eventually I am totally heartbroken. I had adopted him some months back because I wanted him to know he was my wonderful boy, he had a permanent home and I loved him so much.

I miss him so much. So sad to see that wonderful, loving, gorgeous, smart boy decline because humans were cruel, heartless and left him in the scorching Texas sun without water and shelter, in summer, because they didn't care. Because to them, he was JUST a dog.

Pepper was my foster, was adopted and was given back after becoming ill. Regardless of his illness, I wanted him back. He was worth loving, caring for and we decided he was one of the pack permanently.

You will be in my heart forever my sweet Schnoodle boy.

At the beginning of the year 2008, mom fostered me and my brother Poirot for about 3 months. She was happy when a person came along saying he wanted to adopt the 2 of us. We would still be living together. We had just turned 1 year old.

Four months after our adoption, she gets a phone calls of the adopter asking if she could take me back. He had family business to take care of and he needed someone to take me in boarding for awhile. Of course, mom said yes. Then he added that there was something he needed to tell mom... I was dying of kidney failure. He added that since I was going to die shortly, I might as well die in a place where I would be with furry pals.

Mom took me back in a heartbeat. She took me to her vet and had me retested. Turns out I only have 12% of my kidney function. He said that he suspected I had been left outside in July, in the scorching heat of Texas without water. The hair on my head and ears and blond now because of sunburn.

I have to be tested monthly and mom gives me fluids daily and since I am anemic, I need to be on Procrit, which is very expensive. I should have crossed the Bridge but I am still here, playing, eating like a little piglet and running in the yard with my siblings. The vet estimates that I can live up to 2 more years if everything goes well... but not much more. I am 2 years old now.

Mom said that, as long as I eat well, have fun and play, she will do everything she can to make sure I have everything I need to have the best life possible until the time has come for me to cross the Bridge.

The fluids, Procrit and monthly tests are very expensive. Country Ladies Rescue, mom's rescue, will open my very own club shortly to help pay for my treatment. My VERY OWN CLUB! Wooohoooo! She said it will be called the Pepper Schnoodle Club!
