Birthday: January 1st 2006 Likes: Loves to be outside. She also loves to just be by her family and sleeping in Bella's bed. (Bella is a Boston Terrier and MUCH smaller) Pet-Peeves: Being chased or when people raise their voices. Favorite Toy: Anything she can put in her mouth. She likes to sleep with a blanket in her mouth; it seems to comfort her. Favorite Food: She's had a rough go so her system can really only handle HA foods and she's happy with that. Favorite Walk: Lola doesn't like to leave the property; it's a few acres so she gets lots of exercise when we go out to play anyway. Best Tricks: Lola can escape from anything and vanish into thin air. She's also quick with the tongue. Arrival Story: We sell ultrasound equipment to Veterinarians; one of the vets we know had Lola brought in as a stray. She had full blown heart worms and was so emaciated you could literally see every bone, vein, and muscle strand in her body. They were going to put her down but she was so sweet no one wanted to do it - eventually we came along and had SUCKER written all over our faces. They treated her for heartworm, spayed her and we took her home. Bio: Whomever had Lola before she got away most likely tried to fight her; they most certainly abused her. She has a number of scars and it has taken quite some time to get her to overcome her shyness of people. We really don't know her age - I had to put that in to register her here. She had been a stray on the streets for a good 9 months before the people who brought her in could catch her. Her heartworms were adults and she has damage to her heart as a result. For now she is healthy and happy and probably the most laid back, sweet dog I've ever met. She appreciates the simple things and loves just being touched now. All things considered, it's amazing how far she's come.
UPDATE: October 2008. Our sweet Lola is no longer with us; her past caught up with her and she passed the first week in October. We only had her for a year but it was full of love, she is deeply missed. In Memory: Lola passed October 2008
