Arrival Story:
The first pet I ever had was a Chihuahua named Tiny. My sister Nancy did a page for her (#823931). So Chihuahua's have always been a favorite breed. Nancy recently adopted a miniature Poodle who she named Vip (#817801) from a rescue who works closely with the same rescue I had adopted Nico from. She had to wait until he was neutered before she could pick him up. Last night (8/8/08), she & her husband went to pick up Vip. In between first meeting him and picking him up, his foster-mother had acquired a little female Chihuahua who needed a home. I met Holly last night for the first time, and it was love at first sight for both of us! I knew it was time to add a little girl to our family ... and Morgan & Nico have fallen in love with their new baby sister!
Bio:
Holly came from the most humble beginnings that any dog could come from. She is only a year old, but had already been in two homes where she was not wanted. The last home was a potentially abusive situation. Her name was changed to Holly by her foster-mom because whenever she hears her original name, she begins to tremble and gets very frightened. So we knew that verbal abuse was already a part of her past. Her second owner had her in the car and was on her way to the dog pound when she passed a pet adoption event at a pet shop. She went in and gave Holly to the rescue instead. I am so thankful she did! Holly's journey to her forever home has held a lot of "what if's" ... "what if" her owner had not given her up but took her to the pound; "what if" the rescue foster-mom at the pet store that day hadn't been the one that my sister was already adopting through; "what if" Nancy hadn't even wanted a Poodle in the first place and got to know this foster-mother! I don't believe that things "happen by accident." I believe that Holly and I were meant for each other!

Hi, everyone!!!
Thank you for the birthday wishes!! 'cuse me....I have to finish the ice cream cone that Buttercup sent to me!! Mmmmm, that was so cold!!! I needed it---it is hot again today!!
I have been enjoying my day and getting some extra treats and "loving" from my Mommy & Daddy!! We are going for a walkie tonight---after it cools down!!
Hard to believe but it has been three years ago since I was adopted by Mommy!!! I am so happy!! I only wish that Morgan was still with us to share my birthday....but he is our angel now!! Nico & Kodie and our cat siblings are celebrating and I am sharing treats with them!!

I was bemoaning the fact that I had no sister in my last diary entry....well, guess what? I now have a sister!! She's a black cat named "Gilda"!! Now you're probably thinking, "You are happy about a CAT!" but we get along great!! We lay together and nap, watch t.v.--she's my new best friend!! I LOVE my brothers but it is nice to have a sister.
And also a new brother....a tabby kitten named "Yasha." He sure is active!! Hee-hee, Mommy & Daddy thought that he was a girl when they got him!! Boy, were they fooled!!!

By now you all know that I have ANOTHER brother! Jack!! I love him....but oh, why wasn't he a GIRL?!! I am still the only girl in the family!!!!!
But I guess that has its advantages....I am still "Daddy's Little Girl"!! And I don't have to share my hats & dresses (BOL--Jack is too big for THEM even if he was a "she"!!!). So
I guess that it all turned out good!!
He just better "pull his weight" at the tea shop!! At least do the dishes....I definitely do not want "dish water paws"!!!
