Chronicles of a Socks Maniac ;-)

Okay, so it was the wrong decision. *sigh*

Its autumn here in the U.K. .. and where I live, the sycamore trees are throwing their leaves on the floor. Most untidy! If I threw my toys all over the grass like that tree throws its leaves, I'd be in trouble. However, the tree seems to get away with it. The result, of course, is that when I go out to poop - I can't see whether there is any poop out there already. I hate stepping in poop (well, who wouldn't?) and so I poop on the patio or the garden path.

However, today .. the patio was covered in stuff, 'cos Mum was cleaning out the guinea pig hutch (which is an entertainment on its own, but when you've got to go, you've got to go) and the path was all wet where she'd been hosing down the patio and path (apparently our collage of pawprints qualifies as "dirt" instead of the art we know it to be). What's a dog to do?

I made a decision .. and pooped on the dining room carpet where it was both warm and dry.

Turns out that was the wrong decision. Note to self : wet paws are better than being yelled at.

*sigh*

Birthday confusions!!

Well. *harumph* If that was a birthday party, then you can count me out of birthday parties in future.

It was very exciting and looked very promising, to begin with - and people started to arrive, small people like the boy, with delicious little socks like hors'd'oevres to a lurcher like me .. and small shoes which fit just nicely in the mouth. Then, this little girl boy came and, when she saw Mr Jack, she SCREAMED!! Frightened me almost out of my fur, it did. I mean to say, I know Mr Jack is big and black and hadn't had his teeth cleaned that morning, but there was no need to scream!! Darned near broke the windows in the glass cabinet - and the tropical fish went into sonic shock!

What happened after that? Blow me if we didn't get shut in the big bedroom? Now I know that, ordinarily, that would be a treat - but it just wasn't fair! I mean, all those small people to chase and bite their bums (like I do with the boy - he loves it!). All those balloons to pop and socks to pull off and hide and chocolate cake to eat and EVERYTHING .... and ... ~wail ~ ... we missed it ALL. ~sob~

I got so upset that I had to make the best of a bad job, so I made a comfort nest in Mr Jack's bed. (He was snoring on the big people's bed) so I got one of the boy's teddies, and Mum's hairbrush and Dad's fluffy trousers and cuddled them until they came to let us out again. Distraught, I was, I tells you.

Thank goodness, it seems to have gone back to normal this morning. Mr Jack tells me that the boy is at school again - which is why its so quiet around here this morning. I'm alright though, I've got one of his socks from yesterday. Mmmmn, cheesy!! ~wag~

Dusters!

WOO!!! What marvellous things dusters are!! I don't know how I didn't realise it before today ... but they're greyt fun - especially when they've been doing some dusting and they're all sneezy and loads of stuff flies out of them when you shake 'em really HARD!!

Oh, oh, and another thing .... my Dad found some of the socks I'd lost back in the summer time!! Ooooh, happy day!! ~ wag ~ wag ~ I had flung 'em up in the air and they came down who knows where .. but we found them again today. Oooh, it was like being reunited with old friends. I missed those little white buddies, but now they're back and they're in my bed! Woo!!

*ears up*

Gotta go, just heard Dad open a packet of crispies!!
