Arrival Story: Lucky was brought into the shelter where his future mom worked as a four month old puppy with no training. Lucky's previous owners thought that his bad behavior was cute when he was tiny and never trained him out of it. Once he got a little bigger, his behavior was not so cute anymore. His owners decided that they did not want to go through the trouble of training him and dropped him off at the shelter. Lucky was incredibly wild, chewed on anything he came in contact with (including arms and hands), and knew nothing about the proper ways to behave. Due to this, nobody wanted to adopt little Lucky. Of course, it did not help that Lucky was a "pit bull" mix and had enormous bat ears that he would later grow into. Lucky's future mom worked endlessly to train Lucky to be the perfectly behaved dog she knew he could be. Lucky came along wonderully and was soon behaving like a perfect angel for her. Unfortunately, he only behaved that way for her. When any potential adopters took Lucky out, he would get so excited and begin to rough house. The P.A.'s did not know the commands to use to make Lucky behave. Soon Lucky was moved out to the Big Dog Kennels because he was getting bigger and wilder. After months of watching Lucky sit in his kennel with no interest from customers at all, Lucky's mom brought her other dog up to see how they would play. To her great delight, they became best friends instantly! Lucky was scheduled to be neutered and went home a little over a week later. Lucky is now the most wonderfully behaved teddybear who is also a perfect example of a sweet, gentle bully breed.
