Ode to Chris

Okay...this is a little late but Mel told me I better write a thank you card and I didn't know where else to write it. Over Christmas Mel abandoned me for some furless puppy she called a nephew...in Vancouver of all places. Didn't she think I would like to have seen the furless puppy too? Why couldn't it have come here?

Anyways...while she was gone I stayed with Chris. Chris is very nice and didn't get mad much even when I absconded with the loaf of bread and the wrapped box of turtles. She took the turtles back before I could eat them...they didn't smell fishy like I thought turtles would...they smelt more like chocolate. Mmmmm....chocolate. Chris let me sleep on her bed...well okay she didn't exactly let me but she was too tired to object when I snuck up there quietly at 2:00 in the morning. She took me out for long walks in the brisk (-32C with windchill) snowy weather and let me have bones and treats lots of times. It was a pretty good visit. I even got to hang out with her family for Christmas dinner (although Mel warned her she couldn't give me any "people" food so I didn't make out like a bandit like I thought I would).

Anyways...thanks Chris! You're the best! I like your house, and your backyard (although it is more fun when you come out with me), and the field with all the electrical towers. Maybe I can come back and maraud in the lake next time? Many puppy butt wags and kisses.

Christmas Bites

Okay...it doesn't exactly bite but Mel did abandon me for 10 whole days for some hairless puppy she called a nephew on the other side of the country. Actually to be truthful she showed me a picture and he does have a little bit of hair but still, not nearly as fuzzy as me that's for sure. She left me with a friend of hers who was pretty nice but had funny ideas like me not sleeping on the bed with her...she had the nerve to make me wait until she had fallen asleep before I could hop up. Of course I didn't hold it against her and still snuggled up close and gave her kisses. And she bore up well under the -37C temperatures and made sure I got my allotted walks. In the snow!

Did I mention the snow? That was the best Christmas present ever! Snow is beyond fun! I also got some treats, a red rubber ball and a knuckle bone but I figure I had to work for them by wearing this silly red santa suit all day so they can't really be called presents.

Mel came and got me on Monday so things are getting back into a routine. Plus I still have some of the knuckle bone left so life is pretty good.

The above photo says it all (you will know which one when you see it). Now Mel is muttering something about a Sandy Paws costume. HELP! DOG ABUSE!
