So Mom and Dad wanted to give me a break from Simon wanting to play with me too much and found another girl, Mady, to bring home. Well, she is sort of smart and looks like she likes to play like Simon. But, I'm not sure yet if those two should be playing as much as they want or not. Mom and Dad keep suggesting that Simon and Mady play and reassure me that it's okay, but I have this little bit of "Mother Hen" in me that wants everyone around me to behave...lol
It took Mady a few days to understand where HER food dish was at, but she's got the hang of it now. I just make sure that Simon is able to eat his food when he needs to, taking this young "monsterchild" under my paw, so to speak.

Wow! It's been months since I wrote anything in here. Long winter days make for boring times I guess.
Mom got me the new Illusion dog collar so I won't pull her around for our walks. It works, but I still need to learn to not try to pull at all because it chokes me a little bit when I do. I'm a fast learner, so I know I'll get the hang of it soon.
Mom and Dad take Simon and I for more walks now that the weather is warmer. I love being able to go to the dog parks at least once a week now too.

Today, Mom took us to the local dog park where it was BREEEEEZY! Simon and I had tons of fun running around the park, sniffing out new scents, and meeting all sorts of new dogs there! I got to run as fast as I could around the park and it was GREAT! I can't wait to go back again!
It's turning colder as the days go by, so Mom will need to get me a nice warm coat to go outside to the park in. I hope it comes in something pink :)

Well, after Mom saw this show on TV where the "Dog Godfather" said he had a collar that could teach me and Simon how to behave more than we do, she bought two collars. They felt lightweight at first, which I didn't mind because my usual collar is leather. But, when Mom had to give me my first "No!" command, boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy did I find out that this new collar has some BITE! It reminded me of how my Border Collie Mom used to tell me when I was naughty. It wasn't long before I was listening to her and walking a bit closer to her pace. I even managed to avoid confrontation with some dogs that live in my neighborhood.
Simon isn't so comfortable with his new collar, but he's a smart guy and soon will catch up to me. Mom says our leashes get shorter as we learn, so I know I'll be off of this collar before him ;)

Mom got Simon and I this fancy new leash thingy that makes Simon walk right beside me on our daily walks. What happened to a dog walking on its own? It's not as if I can't do that :P
Alright, so it's making me think a little bit more while on this walk....and it keeps Simon walking nice and close to me so I can protect.....and, well, I guess I could get used to the darn thing *shrugs*

Today, Simon and I got to visit the Sycamore Park in Madison to where I enjoyed being able to walk around easily as Simon had to stay on his leash until we reached the center of the park. That little guy annoys me most of the time because he cuts me off as I'm cruising down the path, or suddenly "has" to look at whatever I'm exploring. I did manage to kid him a lot about how he was still on the leash while I was "fancy free"...I love that ;) hee, hee
As we were strolling along, heading toward the center of the park, I saw another border collie that was my coloring and my size and I was EXCITED!!! I don't normally get to see a lot of border collies at this park, so it was awesome to see one that was a cool resemblance of me.
There were so many dogs today, including a bunch of puppies that Simon played with. I handled all of those dogs around me pretty well. I stayed close to Mom and Dad except when I had to make sure Simon wasn't getting in trouble with some of the other dogs.
I can't wait to go back to the dog park again...*sighs*

After enjoying my weekly stroll and social time at the dog park, I came home and hours later mannnnnnnnn, did my eyes feel awful! Apparently, rolling around in the weeds wasn't the smartest thing to do :P
Fortunately, Mom put some eye cream on and gave me some antibiotics and allergy medicine. She also put that darn plastic collar on me so I wouldn't scratch at my eyes. Doesn't she know I hate that thing????
I managed to make it through the night, despite the plastic torture device around my neck, and awoke to my eyes feeling a lot better. Mom took off the collar and treated my eyes to that soothing cream again. Too bad that cream feels all sticky, but at least it cooled down that dryness.
I got to enjoy my Kong toy, as Mom put in hotdogs for me! Ohhhhhhhh, I love hotdogs! I could eat them every day if I could only get in the kitchen and open the refrigerator door! Mom and Dad put up this gate to prevent me from sneaking into the kitchen, though that 20 lb. cat Marcellas can get in it through this small opening at the bottom of the gate. How that cat gets his big butt in there, I'll never know :P
The weather has been so nice the past couple of days, and I can't wait to get back to the dog park. Mom promised to give me my medicine before we go to the park, so I can roll all I want and not end up with that plastic collar thing on me again :P LOL

I'm on my last round of allergy medications that have made me a little extra thirsty and hungry and BOY, did I eat like a little piggy for days...lol
I had no idea that I had seasonal allergies, as Mom and Dad thought I had a reoccurring case of Ringworm since I arrived at the Humane Shelter 3 months ago with it. Fortunately, my allergies are under control and my eyes are not inflammed and the hairs around them are growing back. I hated wearing that cone for a few days to help my eyes, but I understand that it was helping me to heal. I didn't let the cone stop me from enjoying life, though it did stop me from enjoying a chew bone for a few days :P
