Arrival Story:
When we went to the breeder to purchase Charlie, our bloodhound the conversation turned to our Bassets and how much we loved them. Out of the blue the breeder asked us if we would be interested in an adoption also, I guess she could read the question marks on our faces so she turned and opened a small wood door and out ran the smallest, friendliest full grown basset I had ever seen. I think she weighed a total of 26 or 27 lbs and the woman told us she couldn't breed her again because she had to have a C section. At first my husband and I weren't too sure because we already had two bassets and we were getting a bloodhound but the joy in that little girl's heart won us over. All she wanted was to be petted, held and have her belly rubbed and she was so tiny compared to our two guys but beautiful also. Needless to say we couldn't resist her. Bessie was going to go to a real home where she would never again have to worry about having babies. All the love would be for her!

Bio:
We've had Bessie since December of '07 and I truthfully can't say I regret one second of her"adoption" . She fits right in with our guys, she rounds out our group. She's the clown, she's loaded with energy that she channels outside, she plays coy, she teases the others 'til they play too. She's the only one we have that's light enough we can pick her up and she loves every minute of it.
