Arrival Story: My husband has always said I'm tired of all these little wind up dogs. We decided to look for a "bigger" dog. But not BIG! Because I have a three year old and small dogs. I had a Cocker spaniel when we met. Now living with his mother (read Maxwell's page) He said he would love a cocker spaniel. We got our Lizzie and she was such a wonderful joy in our lives I joked about getting another Cocker and he said that would be awesome. So the search set out. We spotted her face on a website and fell in love.

Bio: Delilah came from a terrible breeder. I believe all she knew was the kennel life. Even though "the breeder" Becky and and her website are deceiving. This lady send me this tiny (ITTY BITTY) little cocker spaniel she claims to have feed once a day. ONCE a day for a puppy is insane the poor thing shows up skin and bones, when she got here she ate so much I thought she was going to explode. She says she "lived in her house with her, and was being potty trained" she pottys all over the house and when I get her she is sneezing coughing and has a thick discharge coming out of her nose. She also had a HUGE tick on her the first night I had her home. And the poor thing is terrified of any people. I questioned Becky about it and instead of offering help she tells me I am a bad person. I tell her I feel bad for the puppy and I would like to send her back because she is uncomfortable here and she just goes off on how terrible I am for trying to "get rid" of this dog. Her Puppy contract states " Edwards Training gives a three day general health guarantee." I contacted her the third day and she got angry at me and blamed it on my other dogs. It also says "If, as a result of the examination, the veterinarian determines that the puppy is not in good health, then the Buyer may return the puppy to the Seller for a full refund of the puppy purchase price" My vet found that she had an ear infection and a upper respiratory infection. But Becky thought that, that was a good thing because "it is not something that can be vaccinated against" Then I take out the paperwork and she is not even the breeder of the litter she claims "her sister owned the litter" ok if that was right how come she didn't just transfer the dog from her sister to me instead of from her sister to her then to me. So i have to pay a transfer fee, yes Becky "ONLY $5" but that's $5 she should have to pay. On top of that I wanted a cocker spaniel not a chihuahua, this dog is 4 1/2 mths old and weighs 8 lbs. I did mention i wanted a smaller cocker, yes smaller like 20 to 30lbs not 10lbs. On top of that she sends her in this terrible hair cut she completely shaved her head down and the top half of her ears. She looks NOTHING like the photos she showed me. (Photo two was the breeders photos, and what she should look like after her hair grows back in) Stay FAR away from this person, she is a hack and a complete rip off! I really do believe she runs a puppy mill! RUN AWAY, or you will regret buying from this "breeder." **UPDATE**I am not going to give on this sweet baby. She is still terrified of people but I would not send her back to that hack now even if she paid me. She has come a long way since we got her but it is still a work in progress. She is fine with us if we sit on the ground and love her but she is SO scared of being held she just shakes uncontrollably. She is also terrified of car rides, the leash and any strange people or dogs. She is starting to become happier and had become comfortable with me. If I leave the room she cries but she still is terrified of being held. I think they either NEVER held her or they picked her up and hurt her. We also found out (from her paperwork) that her mother was only a year old. That is TERRIBLE! What that poor momma had to go through so these scum bags could make a buck. I do and don't regret buying her from these scammers. I do because I am helping out their terrible breeding facility putting more dogs through pain and suffering but I don't because I got this sweet baby away from those horrible people. She safe with me and will never be hurt or kenneled again.

We love Delilah more than I can explain. But with all the current dogs we have and trying for a second child we don't have the time to help her blossom into the dog I know she can become.
We have found her an amazing home, with a single woman with two other dogs (which was a requirement of mine, she NEEDS a canine companion) where I know she will get the love and attention she needs to become as beautiful inside as she is outside.
We tried everyday for 11 months. And I decided it was right for us and her to go to a new home. I found a great home for her that will allow her to still be visited by us and my Harley.
I'll update the diary once she gets settled into her new home.
