Arrival Story:
Holly was originally picked up by the Animal Relief Fund in my area as a stray puppy, and of course they took care of the spaying and updating of her shots. They even had her pose with Santa for the local paper since she was picked up around christmas time. Then they told us that the original owners came to claim her back after 2 months of her being gone. They made them pay the adoption fee since they had been taking care of her for so long and did the procedures she needed to be adopted easier. The people we have talked to at the clinic seemed angry that the original owners did not come get the dog sooner, and since now they are moving and gave the dog back again, it seems to show great irresposibilty on their part, and must have been hard on the dog. She still seems like a very happy girl, and seemed to just want to play when we introduced her to Myles, even though he was showing his assertive side for some reason, maybe just protecting us from a strange dog. After they were finished "introducing" themselves to each other, it did not take long before they were both rolling around in the grass with each other, both of them being submissive. Hopefully Myles will appreciate us finding him a buddy so soon, because it is still hard for me to think about adding another member to the family since we just lost one.
