Every endearment you've ever heard.

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-purebred-dog rescue

She loved to meet people, and greeted everyone with the sure confidence that they would all love her. They did.

She wasn't crazy about other dogs, especially big ones who stick noses in little dog ears.

Favorite Toy:
dirty socks (I would actually say it was a fetish)

Favorite Food:
Whatever I was eating.

Favorite Walk:
Everywhere, but mostly on campus where all her friends were.

Best Tricks:
"Shake," which was a full-body shake, not a paw.

Arrival Story:
I had never had a dog before, and was doing research by reading the rec.pets.dogs newsgroup on Usenet. At about the time I'd decided to get something small, someone posted a "Pomeranian needs home" ad on r.p.d, I answered it. I still remember what the ad said: "My friend is taking care of a year old spayed Pom dog, she is a doll. She loves to cuddle, and go for rides." And it was true.

Harley was a very special dog, my heart's dog, who embodied all the best qualities of dogdom: love, faith, optimism, furriness and cuddliness. She was equally at home at fancy parties and hiking through the woods and never met anyone she couldn't win over. Harley went everywhere with me, saw both coasts, and sat in on enough grad classes and conferences with me to qualify for at least a Masters in anthropology. She died at seven and a half of cancer and I will miss her forever. Everyone should be lucky enough to have a dog like Harley. http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~mlchang/ harley.html
