Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: March 2nd 1999
Likes: Chin scratches, belly rubs, brushing and all around loving

Pet-Peeves: When her 10 mo. old bloodhound brother tries to throw his weight around

Favorite Toy: Just a hand to pet her, she never had toys when she was young

Favorite Food: Chicken fillets, baby carrots, and cookies, cookies, cookies

Favorite Walk: A nice stroll around the yard, no mater how hard I tried she's always stayed afraid of strangers

Best Tricks: Knocking whatever we put on top of the bone box off so she can help herself

Arrival Story: I was truly blessed to become Lucy's mommy when she was almost two years old. Up until that point she had been chained by the neck to a plastic igloo in a 4 by 4 foot enclosure. She was at death's door the day I brought her home, all bloated like a starving child and so dehydrated that when she urinated it was a puddle the size of a quarter and the color of dark tea. I don't think her enclosure had ever been cleaned out as it took three baths before I could remove the odor. But what a wonderful girl she turned out to be. She took to me immediately as I did to her. My husband knew her story but I wasn't quite sure how he'd take to me bringing her home. No fear, as soon as he walked in the door after work he took one look and said "oh, you got her", with joy in his voice. At first he was heartbroken because she was terrified of him, must have been abused by a man. After several weeks of learning to trust she turned out to be Poppy's little girl. She is a true gem and will always be our baby girl. I'm not sure of her birthday but I was told approximately when she was bought so guessing her age at sale I counted backward and gave her my birthday.

Bio: Lucy now has a large chained in yard so she can move around all she wants. She hasn't been hungry or thirsty since the day I brought her home. Perhaps she's a little too heavy now because her Poppy and I used to always pity her and say "Oh, Lucy never tasted this or Lucy never tasted that", and then give her some of whatever it was. I can't believe she's 9 yrs old already but what love she gives us. She has a sister, two brothers, basset hounds and one bloodhound as well as her very loving mom and pop. I certainly hope she's forgotten about the first two years of her life!
