Arrival Story: Sadly Mum and Dad lost a little honey Akita female to parvo when she had only been home with them for 3 days. Her name was Yoshiko. Their hearts broke so badly that there was only one solution. Mum didn't tell Dad she was bringing me home - instead she slipped out of work early one day and raced out to pick me up. She stashed me in the car and drove carefully home. An amateur actress, Mum dramatically burst into the house saying there were problems with the car ... an electrical smell coming from under the dash on the passenger side. Dad looked ... but Mum didn't count on his "domestic blindness" being particularly bad that day and he missed me asleep in the foot-well millimetres away from where he was looking. Finally an exasperated Mum came out and Dad saw me ... it was tears and laughter all round. Dad thought I was a German Shepard at first (until he saw my curly tail) - in later months the vet told them that "if he didn't know better” he would have thought I was a Koala - Needless to say, I now have an identity crisis ... a dog .. a Koala ..
