Arrival Story:
I stopped by the Erin, Ontario SPCA to look at dogs, and Keane was the one that caught my eye. He looked so calm and intelligent. I had been searching for a dog to replace my beloved Lucky, not exactly like him - but with a calm, wise personality like him. Keane is VERY high energy and we take him and Niko for a run in the woods every morning for 45 mins or an hour and then the Critter Sitter takes him 3 days a week to play group with a bunch of local dogs.
Bio:
He is still a giant, chewing puppy at 11 months (85 pounds), but I think he will be a great dog when he grows up.
July 2009 - well we have had Keane for a year and a bit now - it has been rough! He has destroyed a good portion of our belongings, my video camera, the central vac hose, Gord's wallet (with credit cards and money strewn all over the back yard), the backyard shrubs and other items too numerous to mention. But he is pretty much over this phase, and is very well behaved now. (No wonder he was sent back to the pound twice!!). Oddly enough, he nevers chews anything when we are away from the house - he only does it when we are there. I think it is an attention getting behaviour, clever boy. We love him though and he is staying.
My husband adores him!
