Birthday: August 1st 2007 Likes: TO BE HELD LIKE A BABY AND GO TO SLEEP Favorite Toy: LOVES TO PLAY Arrival Story: My name is Angie, and I truly am a "survivor." I am very special because I have helped out a lot of people. I am a retired research beagle (that just means I was used in biomedical research), and now I have been given the chance to be adopted as a pet and learn what life outside of a laboratory is really like! Bio: I only have 1 kidney. (I was used to help in kidney transplant research! Wow!) Just like people, I am expected to live a normal and healthy life with just one kidney. I was used in a study through which I was not expected to survive - but guess what? I did! And now I need a home!! The only other issue I have is that my left jugular vein is not functional. This is not expected to cause any problems, either, though - it's just something my new veterinarian will need to know. My labmate Allie was adopted out and is doing great, and the same should be true for me!
I LOVE TOYS!! Every toy in my foster mom's house has been taken outside through the doggie door! I LOVE to play outside, too. I am cratetrained, and housetrained to a schedule. I do not like to be crated, however, and will howl to let you know about it. Apartment/townhouse dwellers need not apply! I am still learning how to play with other dogs, but I think they're great. I am a bit cautious when I meet new people, but I do warm up to people, and LOVE to be held like a baby and fall asleep in your arms. :) I just need someone to show me new things positively and in a slow manner. I really just want to please... I've Been On Dogster Since:
