A few months later he called and told us to pick him up, he wasn't training any more and we moved him to a trainer in TX.

Bio:
Moon is half british lab/ half american lab. After doing a little research I found out that he and diamond are something like 2nd cousins. Moon is now retired from hunt tests and is a full fledged family member.

sometimes I hurt

A few months ago mom n dad noticed that sometimes when I get up I am very wobbly and have a hard time walking for a few minutes. Sometimes it seems like I'm stiff in the morning. They think I might be showing signs of hip dysplasia already. Yesterday mom found out that my daddy has severe dysplasia. How did she find out? She found out online. My breeder/former owner/former trainer never told my mom n dad that my dad had bad hips. Of course, my dad and mom were bred before he was tested because my breeder couldn't wait until the next heat cycle to get the test results. Mom wonders why my daddy's owner or my breeder never told anyone. I am loved and would be here anyway, but she never would have sent me to training since that is hard on my bones and joints. She would have also started me on glucosamine immediately. Unfortunately, we won't know for sure if I have dysplasia or how bad it is until I can be x rayed on my 2nd birthday and the results read. Until then mom n dad just watch me and try to make sure I get exercise but don't stress my hips. that is hard for a young lab who likes to run and jump a lot. Hopefully, this isn't as bad as my dad dog has it and I can get around here for a very long time.

Mom n dad decided that I don't have to go back to training. I seem so happy in the house with them that they don't want to see me sad like I am when I train and live outside in a kennel I'd rather retrieve a frisbee than a duck or a bumper. i'd rather sleep on a body pillow beside the bed than outside in a barrel in a cage. i would rather wear a collar with a hook for a leash than one with a box that hurts me when i don't do what i'm supposed to. i'm still going to visit to watch the babies: strutter, shady, and katie, do their training but i can sleep in the cabin with the hu-rents not outside. I am happy and mom sez that is what matters

sad day

Mom n dad had been having a hard time getting a call to my trainer. He had bad news for them. I have to come home. I'm not doing what I need to be and he doesn't want to take any money from them. He has kept me in his house this month to try to work with me in a different way but I'm not having it. Dad is depressed. Mom is upset because dad is upset. Mom is going to come get me the first weekend in December and leave Strutter at the trainer. Mom is sad but she knows that I'm good at other things even if not being a hunt trial dog. Dad does too, he's just real sad right now. I am too.
