Arrival Story:
Fred was adopted from a lovely family who lived on a farm in Georgia. We found Fred on We took Lucille Bald up to Georgia to meet Fred and they did great together. So Fred came home 400+ miles south to live in Florida. He's gone from outdoor, hunting farm dog, to suburban, yuppy puppy who loves his new indoor, cush life. We routinely send updates & pics to Fred's original parents and thank them for bringing Fred to our lives. Fred rocks.

Fred lost his leg in August 2007. He was found under a barn with a crushed leg that was too badly damaged to save. He has adapted amazingly well. He has now mastered, stairs, swimming, fetching balls and runs often with his marathoner dad. Fred's longest run to date was 12, miles pulling on his leash the entire way!

Our fabulous vet has asked if Three Leg Fred would be their "poster-child" and goodwill ambassador for doggy amputees. They want to use him an example of how well dogs can do after amputation. He got his photos taken and we have offered to talk to any family that is strugglingly with the decision.

We adopted Fred with three legs, but he has learned so many new things and is totally able to do everything he wants. He lives a happy and full three-legged-life. We hit the adoption jackpot!!!
