Primary Love: Being petted and sitting on laps! Secondary loves: Taking walks, riding in the CR-V, going to Dad's softball games, visiting Vermont for some extra attention from mom and dad's skiing/snowboarding friends.

Pet-Peeves:
Any man who comes to the door when only he and mom are home alone. He protects his mama and would prefer you come back at a more convenient time. :-) Deer and rabbits in the yard are also not appreciated.

Favorite Toy:
Little green squeaky ball, plush bone toy, stuffed KONG, and the ever-popular nearly empty peanut butter jar.

Favorite Food:
Eats Innova brand dry dog food and mom's sandwich and toast crusts.

Favorite Walk:
The evening downtown route, around the neighborhood, or the "good dog" park.

Best Tricks:
Sit/stay/shake. "Go get mom/dad". He will also leave a treat right under his nose until you say he can take it. But, really, his best trick is convincing his family that he is a lap dog (all 65 pounds of him.)

Arrival Story:
Jake was a 7-year-old ASPCA pound dog who was left at the shelter when his previous family had to move into town. "Dad" found Jake and saw his potential right away. (Dad is a very smart guy). "Mama" was looking for a 2-ish year old, medium-sized, short-haired dog and needed a bit of convincing to realize this old guy belonged in the family. The deal was sealed when mom went back for a one-on-one visit. Jake came into the room, laid down on mama's feet, and looked up at her with his big brown eyes and begged to be petted. This "mature", fluffy, shedding, big boy now has the run of the house and none of us would have it any other way.
