As many of you know, one of the favorite pass-times up here at Rainbow Bridge is watching our families. And for me, there's been some particularly good stuff to watch lately!

Last night Bailey played with horsey! Oh, she gave it to horsey good! I was so, so proud of her! I smiled from ear to ear the entire time!

And I'm so happy that mom and dad said she can play with it whenever she wants. She's my little sister, so as far as I'm concerned, she deserves it!

Bailey, if you see this, I love you!

It looks like Frosty, the kitty, has finally taken to dad. Frosty used to really not like mom & dad, and just like Grandma and Grandpa, but now, he really likes dad.

It's hilarious to watch dad trying to do some work at the computer while Frosty lays on the keyboard and puuuuurrrrrrs at the top of his little kitty lungs!

It's kinda neat, because when I met dad, I wasn't always that happy, but he was patient, I grew to trust him, and we became the best friends ever. To see Frosty growing closer to dad, and let down his guard a little bit, is very sweet.

I think it's safe to say dad and I are both pretty excited about the upcoming football season. We're just over 3 weeks from the first Husker game, and there hasn't been this much excitement heading in to a season since... oh gosh... 2001?

In my opinion, the team has the potential to be really good this year. There are veterans at almost every position. The biggest question is the QB spot. If somebody steps up and wins that job, hold on to your hats! If not, well... expect more nail biters.

Oh, and how about the Big 10? Mom's side of the family is from Ohio, and Dad's is from Nebraska, so everybody is looking forward to NU vs. OSU! Oh, to see the Huskers in the Horseshoe... to see the Buckeyes in Memorial Stadium... it's gonna be GREAT!

A couple weeks ago dad moved the handsome wood boxes with Winston's ashes, and my ashes to the mantle above the fireplace. His thought was that from that vantage point, we can see out the front door, and we can see the TV! He draped my Husker collar around my box, so it'll be like I'm there watching the games with him! I think he should set my favorite football next to my box! It'd be a wonderful good-luck charm!

------------------------------------

Well, I think that's all for today... Atley has an appointment at the Vet in a few minutes, and I always get a kick out of watching him do biscuit shots, and flirting with the girls, so I'm gonna go watch that.

From the moment we bonded over that football you found in my closet, you were my prince. We helped each other grow, and made each other better. I loved every second I had with you, and wish there would've been many, many more. It's been a year since you went to the bridge to wait for us. I know you and Winston are having a high old time, making new friends, and watching over us. You were my angel when you were here, and you're my angel now.

Nothing I type here will do justice to your memory. Just know that I miss you, and I always will. I love you, and I always will.

Love, Dad.

I've tried off and on all day to write somthing about this day. It's hard realizing it's been a whole year that you crossed the bridge. Your passing came to quickly, you were only 10. As I sit here and fight back the tears, there is so much I want to say but can't bring forward. So, I'll just say that I love you, I miss you, and you are thought of each day. Sissy Bailey still misses her Brother, and Sophie is doing well, thanks to your kindness. So, with that, I'll leave this note, and in time write more of my memories. For now, you were gone too soon, I hope and pray when you left this world you left it happy and in no pain, and knowing how much you are loved.

I miss you.
