Arrival Story:
She was the first guide dog puppy that we raised. We were told that we were getting a female yellow lab, and her name started with "H". We had all kinds of weird names picked out for her but when "Hoka" came all we could say was "who?".

Bio:
Hoka was born on May 6, 2001 at the Guide Dogs for the Blind campus in San Rafael CA. She came to live with us in July, when she was 8 weeks old. She returned to the OR campus in October of 2002. She did very well in training and made it all the way to the end. She was career changed because her paw pads are very sensitive and would bleed when being walked to much. She now actually lives with my mom, but she is always visiting, while my mom is out of town.

Wow, I can't believe it's already 2005. What a year it's been. I currently live with my mom (who is my grandma's mom, my 1st mom and grandma raised me for Guide Dogs for the Blind then when I couldn't work because I have soft feed (I'm a sensitive girl) I came home to live with my mom's grandma, who is now my mom. Ever heard the song "I'm my own grandpa....") anyway, I live with my mom # 3 and she spoils me rotten. It kinda makes my other mom upset because I like to act like I don't know what in the world they are talking about when they tell me to do things like "sit, and stay ect" I do know them but my mom doesn't think that I need to worry about such silly things so she doesn't make me do them. I am very prissy though so I do them when I need to show people that I am perfect. I am a very petite labby, and very light for a yellow. Some people like to say that I'm a "white" lab but there really isn't white labs just light light yellows. Any ways that's all about me. I'll update more later.
