Birthday: July 1st 2008 Likes: HAVING MY EARS RUBBED Favorite Walk: THE ONE I AM TAKING NOW Arrival Story: I just arrived at CBR-East and I am a very special dog because I have helped so many people. I am a retired research beagle (that just means I was used in biomedical research), and now I have been given the chance to be adopted as a pet and learn what life outside of a laboratory is really like! Bio: I helped in kidney transplant research (Wow!) and because of this I only have one kidney! Just like people, I am expected to live a normal and healthy life with just one kidney, so I hope this makes me even more special in your eyes! I don't need special medications or food or anything - just a loving home to show me what life as a loving housepet can be!
I am doing well in my foster home and I love to snuggle with people. My foster mom says I would make a great therapy dog b/c when she was told her position had to be cut from her company and she was upset, I curled up with her and made her feel better. :) I am learning to be cratetrained and housetrained. I enjoy the company of my canine and feline foster siblings. I like going for walks, getting kissed on the face, and having my ears rubbed! Loud and unexpected noises frighten me, so very young children may not be a good match for me, but I love people and would do well in a home dedicated to introducing me to the real world in a calm, positive, and fun way!
