He was the mellowest of the bunch, and (in my opinion) the most handsome. I originally wanted to get a girl dog, because I've only had boys in the past (a cocker spaniel and a beagle), but Ernie was too cool to pass up. My sister wanted to name him Arbuckle, after a city in northern California, but I liked the name Ernie, after the chairman of my department.... so we called him Ernie Arbuckle. Interestingly... if you do an internet search for the name "Ernie Arbuckle" you find that he was a former dean of the Stanford Business School. Anyway, thanks for checking out Ernie's page!
