Arrival Story:
I had an outside dog when my husband was killed and a good friend talked me into bringing her inside for company. She passed away Thursday, 02Mar06 and I had an appointment @ Never More Farms to adopt Ope on Friday, 03Mar06. I found Ope on line and I adopted him from a no-kill adoption home. Shortly after Ope turned 1 yr old, I felt something was missing. Maybe HE needed a dog so I started looking for a companion for him. That is when I found HIS dog, T.J. Max-a-Million. T.J. 'n Ope hit it off right from the start and now we are a two dog family.

Ope has a AVID microchip # 104 820 790. AVID has a toll free number: 800/336-2843. Should I ever post his disappearance, please feel free to use this number to reunite him with me. Ope 'n T.J. are all I have in this world; they are MY fur babies! Ope weighs approximately 13 lbs and the bottom of all 4 paws have white on them. He also has a white fur on his chest. His tail has been docked (it was that way when I adopted him). He is very intelligent and has an easy going personaliy. He loves everyone and he's never met a stranger.

Ope celebrates his 3rd birthday today. Mom is fixing him a chocolate carob (chocolate carob is something a dog MAY have without the fear of it being toxic) cake and I expect Ope 'n his buddy, T.J., will tear into it shortly after their dinner.
Happy Birthday, Ope

Freedom Fest Fun Dog Show

Friday, 05Sep08, I earned my first blue ribbon in a Fun Dog Show that my mommy put together for the Skidmore Freedom Fest celebration. Of course, she had to get an "outsider" to judge the dog show because she entered both T.J. and I. But, I won Biggest Sports Fan. Mom dressed me in a Wisconsin Badger t-shirt that read "I love the Badgers" and put her Wisconsin Badger Cheerleading bandana around my neck. We probably would've had a lot more fun had it not rained right before the show. The grounds were wet 'n soggy and made a muddy mess out of my t-shirt. Nevertheless, we still had a good time and there were 18 contestants in all at the show. Mom says next year might even be bigger!! I can hardly wait.

Mommy Moment

Okay, let me start out by saying ... I try to be very fair to BOTH dogs AND, because they are bestest friends in the whole wide world, I usually can't post in one's diary and NOT the other because things happen in "pairs" in our house.
With that being said, yesterday evening I was on a long distance phone call with someone I'll refer to as a "very special friend", when T.J. started running just as fast as he could from the kitchen to the dining room and into the living room (where I was sitting). All of a sudden, he quite literally tripped over "air" and did a sommer sault mid-air. Ope was, of course, immediately behind T.J. and slammed into an airborne T.J. and their two bodies just entangled within each other.
Of course neither dog was hurt. Mom's rib cage hurt from laughing so hard, though. And, she had to end her call so she could regain her composure to finish talking to her friend.
A real "mommy moment" .....
