Arrival Story:
We had gone looking in the shelters in our area but didn't find the one. So we said to ourselves when our dog is out there we will find her/him.Well about a month later I found this cute doxie mix online in a local rescue group. I spoke with my sister who works doing pet services and told her about this dog and she said that she knew the woman who was fostering "Hope".Unknown to me she takes in "Hope" as a foster, but "Hope" had gotten sick and sis couldn't risk her gang getting sick as well, so she called me and tells me that she has the dog that i was telling her about and she needed me to nurse her back to health,i said sure i'll be right there. When i pulled up there was "Hope" the cute nervous eyed dog i had found online. I couldn't believe it. I get all her info & meds and take her home. Now my husband who is home recovering from surgery that he had less than a week ago, wakes up to see this cute face staring into his kinda saying to him "Hey who are you and what are you doing here"and the same look was on his face. I say to him this is her this is "Hope" the one online, and i explain the story to him. Within a week we both knew that she was the "one" and it was meant to be. They both nursed each other back to health. It turned out that she had been dropped at the shelter on 4/4/08 i found her on 4/8/08 and she was in our care by 4/14/08 . She was made officially ours on 5/5/08 and we are so happy to have her in our family. It took 4 years for me to decide to get another dog, i thought i couldn't do it after losing vanilla my red nose pitbull the first dog i ever had,but when we got Shortie it was like there was a part of vanilla in her and i wasn't the only one to see it,the rest of the family saw it in her too.Thats how i knew shortie was fate, karma whatever you want to call it.We are so glad that we have her in our family she is a clown at times and will melt your heart with her eyes in a second.

We only had limited info on her and the shelter papers said that she was about a year and a half old ,so we decided that 5/5/08 would be the day we sign the adoption papers and make it her birthday, since she was part chihuahua what better day than Cinco de mayo.
