Arrival Story: I always wanted a dog named "Thor". At first I thought I wanted a Yorkshire Terrier, but through asking friends and family I heard a Bichon would be the ideal breed for me. I had never heard of the breed, but when I looked at the fluff ball pictures online, and fell in love with Fiona's dog in Shrek II I knew it was for me!
I saved my money, as they are very expensive dogs, and I finally "got a sign" that the time was right to obtain Thor as I had just interviewed a new hire and she stated that she had had a Bichon for 14 years before her dog passed away...Needless to say, she was hired and I was off to find a reputable breeder for Thor! :)
I found a reputable AKC breeder, and went to view her male litter. I had her set all the dogs down on the ground and I said "come here Thor"...my dog literally walked up to me and wedged his head underneath my foot and flip flop. So that was it right there, I was a pet parent. As I was filling out his papers, I found out his grandfather's name was Scooby Doo -- I have a HUGE Scooby Doo collection...it sealed the deal, this dog was the right dog for me! I've loved him ever since, and never looked back....well, sometimes I look back, but that's because Thor is blitzing back and forth through the apartment! ;)
Bio: Hi my name is Thor -nice to meet you! And yes, I do everything I can to earn such a big name as a "God of Thunder" I may be small, but I am very sturdy! I love to do my famous Bichon Blitz, and have often been referred to as "The Flying Thor" for the way my ears fly back and my paws are level as I blitz, jump and fly through the air to land on Grandpa's favorite chair...well, really it's MY chair now! I am a bit of a Divo dog, as I have certain clothes I like to wear...but NO hats...I don't like them, and never will! I love to be a big boy and wear my seatbelt and cruise around Atlanta, but the thing I love most of all is belly rubs -- I am the Founder, President and Only member of THE BELLY RUB CLUB!
My mommy and grandparents treat me pawtastically and I could not ask for anything more - but between you and me, I may have them wrapped around my little paw just a bit! ;)

I've Been On Dogster Since:
Oh my goodness, what does a Bichon have to do to get groomed around here?! I was supposed to go to see Ms. Cynthia the Bichon specialist on the Saturday before last, and a transfomer blew at the shop...so that was a no go. I go the next day on Sunday and get washed, and in the midst of the blow dry Ms. Cynthia gets sick, so now I'm washed, fluffed, and even MORE fluffy because I'm in desperate need of a shave!
Then on Friday while Mommy was out of town, my grandparents took me to a different groomer, I came out shaved, but with my fro lop-sided, actual mats from ill cutting and one ear longer than the other!? Darnit, so close!
So the NEXT day I had to go to the groomer Uh-Gain, because I couldn't let Mommy see me looking like THIS!!! And I finally got the wash, blow dry and curl I wanted!!! Mommy came back into town and didn't even know this all happened, well not until she reads this anyway! ;)
So now that I'm freshly groomed and as adorable as ever, I'm going to go and chew on a dingo bone, and swing my new PONY TAIL EARS! :)
So...you want to hear something funny? Mommy is a real "Magoo" when it comes to her vision. Like, when she takes her glasses off, I love to run around her feet because she can't catch me! LOL
Anyways, mommy's alarm went off this morning and I hopped into bed to wake her up. I licked her, and pawed her, and stepped on her face...you know, the usual things a high-maintenance dog does. And when she finally did open her eyes to yell at me "at the foot of her bed", mommy panicked because I didn't move! I didn't bark back, I did absolutely NOTHING! So frantic, mommy puts on her glasses only to discover she's been talking to my white balled up blanket I'd dragged onto the end of her bed this morning. All the while I'm lounging on mommy's pillow behind her, smiling to myself. Finally mommy turns around and 'SLURP!', big ol' puppy kiss right on the kisser! Hahaha, mommy hates it when i do that, but I think it's a hysterical way to wake someone up in the morning! ;)
