Arrival Story:
I am still deeply grieving the death of my Dalmatian of 15 years and my husband thought another dog (even though I was not ready) would at least get me out of bed and the house. Even though we just spent $600 on him get neutered, etc. I still call him the interim dog. A family on Craisglist wanted to rehome him because they already had two dogs and that found him running lose in their neighborhood. He is a very sweet dog and is starting to feel like this is his home. We are very good to him and he now has the good life now. He has still not bonded to us, we have only had him 3 weeks and we are his 4th home that I know of since he was a pup, but that includes the home he was born in.
Bio:
Since Idid not get him as a small puppy training as been a little harder. He did come house trained. He gets distracted easy also because he is a bird dog by nature. He is doing well on a leash. I have to say though it normally is the easiest and firt command to teach a dog, sitting has been difficult to get him to do. Sometimes when I am training him or just spending time with him I start to get sad and miss my deceased Dalmatian. He is not a cuddler like my baby Jesse was but he does like to be close to me or my husband. I think he may be wanting to be a lap dog. He is a very good dog, friendly, and loves children. The neutering did calm down his goofiness quite a bit of which I am glad, because I am normally attracted to more assertive watch dog types.
