I'm bragging...........

Quite a while ago our therapy dog group, Caring Animal Partners, asked for photos of our dogs to be considered for the annual Christmas Card. Well, Mom sent some of me and some of Beanie for consideration. The card came today, and MY photo was right there on the front for all to see!!! I was soo proud! I have always said I am very photogenic, well, Tyson says that, but he is my son, soooo...
As you may remember, I have been enjoying sleeping in the warm waterbed lately. But, every once in a while Georgie wakes up in the middle of the night crying. Mom puts me in with her and I console her and spend the rest of the night with her. She has been pretty good for the last week or so, but last night she must have had a nightmare cuz she was screaming and howling. Must be Mom's fault. You see, she was doing some Christmas decorating. Mom is old and stubborn and doesn't believe it's Christmas unless we have a "real" tree, a BIG, real tree. Well, the only place for it is right where Georgie's puppy pen is. Mom thought about it for a long time, and finally decided she could put a HUGE vari-kennel without a gate in Georgie's pen, then she could put the tree on top of the kennel. Georgie could have the kennel to sleep in and the tree would be safe from her and from us up on the kennel. Soo, she and Toto went off to get a tree. Finally, they came back with a five foot tall tree, and it barely fits on the kennel. Soo, it is now decorated and looks okay there, but Georgie was confused about the whole change. She must have dreamed she was in a forest or something, cuz she was really, really howling! I knew the minute I heard her... I got off the waterbed and waited for Mom to put me in with her. I must admit, it was quite cozy in there. And, it smells so nice and Christmasy!

Happy Turkey day everypup.......

Us pups up here in New England want to wish all of your pups a very, very happy Thanksgiving filled with lots of nice turkey. While the vets see more dogs with intestional upsets on Black Friday than any other day, Mom wants everyone to know it's not the turkey that is the villian!!! Turkey by itself is good for dogs... it is a safe, mild meat (unless you are allergic to it!!!) The problem comes with the rest of the Thanksgiving dinner. Worst of all is that great tasting fatty turkey skin. Man, is that stuff good, but, man is that stuff hard for us to digest and it really strains our pancreas. And, also a problem is the gravy and the stuffing, for the same reasons. Most of the veggies are okay, especially the sweet potatoes and the brocolli. But, watch out for the sauces on the veggies. A small piece of roll or bread won't hurt, but be light on the butter, please. As for dessert... skip that in favor of another piece of turkey!!!! And, you better stay away from the wine or you will be whining with a big headache.
Another thing to remember, watch where your parents put those turkey bones! Cooked turkey bones splinter really easily and can puncture your digestive system. Also, it is possible you could choke on them!!! If either of those things happen, you will be spending Black Friday visiting with your veterinarian and your pawrents will be angry... moms cuz they would rather spend the time and money on Black Friday specials and dads cuz they wanna watch all that football!!!
Soo, let's all go out and pawty hearty... but not too hearty!!! Happy Turkey day to everyone!

The shed secret......

Hrumph... Beanie thinks he is sooo smart and sooo brave. Well, Mom wasn't paying too much attention to us this afternoon so he finally went right into the shed and looked around. But, he made me stay on watch for him!!! So, after he came out I made him watch and I ran in to check it out. Obviously, Beanie is blind, or he just forgot to look up! Sitting up on a plant pot was a HUGE.......... I'm sworn to secrecy, you'll have to look at my photo to see what it was, hehehe!!!

I've created a monster.......

My gosh, that little Georgie is a monster!!! Mom has been letting her out in the evenings to play with all of us older guys and I guess she's been learning some tough moves. Tonight she left a little of her raw food in her dish so Mom put me back in with her to eat it up. (The perks of motherhood!) Well, Georgie was playing with me after I finished her dinner so Mom left me in there for a bit. Man, is she rough!!! A minute ago she had my ear and one of my back feet BOTH in her mouth at the same time! Then she got really wound up and jumped right on top of me, growling and snarling! At that point I told Mom to get me out of there right now!!! I tried a little mother to daughter snarl, but she was totally ignoring it and kept attacking me! And, it sounds like she has the Winston/Tyson roar down pretty well, too!
Mom said there was a puppy boarding at work that is the right age and right size to play with her but the people just got it from the local pet store and Mom is afraid to put Georgie with it yet. Almost every puppy that comes out of that place gets really sick, so Mom has that one in isolation over at work and won't let anyone play with it. The girls play with him just before they go home, then they change their clothes and shower before they touch their own dogs at home. It's staying for another week and Mom said if it doesn't get sick by this weekend it will be long enough and then Georgie will be able to play with him. I can't wait until she can burn off some excess energy by playing with someone her own size and age!
Well, gotta go now... it's almost time for bed!

Ahh, a good night's sleep.........

Finally, Mom is letting me sleep in the waterbed again. I was afraid she was going to make me stay with Georgie forever. I can see it all now, Georgie is all grown up, and is having her own baby and Mom is still plunking me down in the pen with her. Yeah, right! At least she lets me out to play with everyone after dinner, now. Soo, I only spend the day with her while Mom is at work. The minute she gets home I am out of there! Of course, Georgie always leaves me a bit of her raw food, so I have to hop back in there after dinner and eat that up, but then I am out again and playing with Toto, Beanie and Tyson and whoever else is out with us. Georgie always grabs a toy and growls and shakes it and trys to make us all think she has something really special in her pen. Only Tyson falls for it... he sneaks around the back of her pen and tries to scoop out what ever she has. He is the most talented with his feet so he is the best scooper. I did teach him that trick.
Uh oh, right now Georgie is pulling stuffing out of her dog bed... Tyson must have taught her that, I would NEVER do such a thing!!!

Summer is back????

Gosh, it was very warm today! It was soo warm that Mom took me and Georgie down to the big yard again. Mom said the only difference with late Fall and Summer as far as photos go is that the shadows are too dark in the late Fall and it's hard to get good photos. It's actually better on a cloudy day.
First I ran and ran and ran... Mom was amazed at how fast I was running. I reminded her how little I was able to run this Summer with being pregnant with Georgie and then having to take care of her most of the Summer.
Little Georgie is getting pretty fast herself! Today she was exploring on her own and running and jumping like an old pro. I did notice that one time she lost sight of both me and Mom and she was a bit nervous until she spied Mom again and raced over to her.
Well, now I am playing with Georgie in our pen. I only go in there once in a while now, mostly when Georgie needs someone to play with cuz I am very gentle with her. Besides, if I am in there I don't have to fight for the best spot on the dog bed!!!

My job is ending....

I can't believe Mom put that photo of me hanging out of the puppy box on my page!!! Can I help it if that box was a bit warm for me? I finally discovered that if I hung out the end I would be cooler. It took Mom forever, but she finally realized why I was sleeping like that and turned off the heated bed. Whew!!!
The good news... for some reason Georgie has decided to let me sleep on the bed with Mom and the others now. We have been trying it for a week or so and she would just scream and scream for me to get back in with her. Last night she didn't scream! It was pretty strange cuz she watched me go in with Mom and hop onto the waterbed, then she walked over and got into her bed. Mom got up in the night to check on her... she woke up, came out for a pat or two and went right back in the dog bed. Cool... I have really been missing that nice bed of Mom's!
This morning I am back with her and we are playing. Mom says she still needs me to keep her entertained during the long days. I guess I can handle that since I won't have to spend the nights in there anymore. Besides, Mom is still giving us that great raw food!!!!

Georgie visits the other pups....

Today Mom had to spend some time cleaning or else the house was going to get condemned!!! So, since it was pretty nice again she put most of us outside. Well, obviously Georgie is too small to go outside and Mom wanted to clean our little pen so she put her in with Walter and the Crested kids. It was alright, I guess. Walter was a bit of a pain, he kept trying to pick on poor Georgie. Mom finally made him spend a bit of time in a crate. But, Harvey and Connie were fine... in fact, they never even paid any attention to Georgie. After a while Mom put Walter back in the pen and he was much better. She said she would not let them stay together out of her sight yet, but all in all, they were much better than she thought they would be.
Meanwhile, I was outside with Tyson and Beanie. I searched and searched and finally found some mud out there. I stomped and stomped in it, so when I came in I was all mud and Mom put me in the kitchen sink. Gosh, I LOVE mud... it feels so warm and squishy and soft. The only problem is that when it dries out I am all covered with hard lumps of dirt!!! Well, that is unless Mom throws me in the kitchen sink and hoses me off!!!

Halloween and it's warm out!!!

Hey, it was 69 degrees this afternoon so Mom decided NOT to clean the house but to take us all outside for a romp in the big yard. Because it was so warm she decided that Georgie could go with me. She has never been outside before except to go over to the kennel. The first time I whipped thru those leaves beside her she was a bit scared, but then she quickly decided that was great fun and started to play with me and the leaves. Mom was pretty surprised that she ran around so much. Mom thinks she is way, way too small but she is forgetting that Tyson was pretty tiny for a long, long time, too!
Boy, now we are napping... it sure wears you out to run thru all those leaves! It might have been nicer to have some crisp, Fall air... nah, did I actually say that????
Well, Happy Howlaween, don't let any ghosts get you or black cats chase you!!! And, don't eat all your candy at once!!!
