I understand all my other family members are calling me a princess and some one even used the wimp word. Well, here is the story:
It was mighty cold today. Not usually a problem, but it WAS an issue for me today. Mom took me to work today for a haircut and a bath. My hair was getting a bit too long and was becoming unmanagable. Soo, first she gave me a pre bath clip. Nothing unusual about that, but today when she grabbed the 4F blade it was dull and wouldn't go thru my dirty coat. Soo, Mom looked over, saw another 4F, snapped it on the clippers and ran it down my back. She thought it was a bit close, but, instead of stopping, she ran another strip right down my entire back. THEN, she takes off the blade and looks at it... of course it was the 5F, which is my SUMMER length, not my winter one!! Well, at this point she had two major lines of short hair down my back so she couldn't stop. She did use the 4F on my legs, bless her soul! I would like to think that IF I were a paying client she would have checked that second blade and not just popped it on and started clipping. I really would like to think that we are groomed with the same considerations as the paying clients, but I KNOW that is so not true. Nine out of ten grooms, she leaves the final trimming "for later". For later is one of those ways of saying NEVER!
Anyway, after my bath and final trim, (hey, today must have been that one out of ten time???) she fortunately found a sweater for me. I am going to need more than a sweater with this short doo, trust me!
Well, of course it snowed the other day and it's Mom's afternoon off so she decides we shall go romp in the snow. Mind you, it is ONLY 18 degrees outside and the wind is blowing and I have NO HAIR! I tried to make the best of it... I ran down the path, but when I got to the open field I could go no further. My whole body was freezing, especially my bare feet. Did you know that wind blows right thru knit sweaters??? Trust me, it does!
Soo, all I got for photos were a couple of me freezing. Hey, if you look way, way back thru my photo album you will find some nice photos of me playing and racing thru the snow. I really like snow, I am not a prima donna and I was just plain COLD, get it??? Now I am going to jump into Mom's warm waterbed and bury myself under the comforters for some comfort!

Mom says she doesn't know how I can change so fast from a mud stomping tomboy to a princess! Today was definitely a princess day!!! She found a jacket in the bag that is all LONG fake fur. She immediately thought it would be perfect for me, and I agree!
Check out my TWO new photos modeling it. Mom says it's pretty obvious that today was my princess day!!! What can I say??? I had to daintily tiptoe around all the others so they would be sure to notice me. Hey, RHIP, right? And, AHIP, too, and I am the eldest!

Today due to a little dietary indisgresion problem we all had last night, Mom came home early to let us out. It was sort of warm, well, the sun was shining and there was no wind behind our house in our pen so she left us out for a while. Soo, Georgie and I decided to play. We ran and ran and ran. Could we help it if it rained lots yesterday and last night? Could we help it if there was a HUGE puddle right in the middle of the pen?
Well, Mom came home to let us inside. Would you believe both Georgie and I were totally brown??? And, it was really thick mud, too and stuck to us like we had been dipped in it.
My Mom must be getting older... she just put some towels in our crates and waited for it to dry out and fall off. Usually she would have put me in the kitchen sink and hosed me off. Well, for some reason it's not falling out this time so we both have to go to work tomorrow for a bath. I reminded Mom that she was lucky... mud smells earthy and fresh. That stuff we were doing last night smelled AWFUL and we didn't get any of that on our coats!!!!

Us pups up here in New England want to wish all of your pups a very, very happy Thanksgiving filled with lots of nice turkey. While the vets see more dogs with intestional upsets on Black Friday than any other day, Mom wants everyone to know it's not the turkey that is the villian!!! Turkey by itself is good for dogs... it is a safe, mild meat (unless you are allergic to it!!!) The problem comes with the rest of the Thanksgiving dinner. Worst of all is that great tasting fatty turkey skin. Man, is that stuff good, but, man is that stuff hard for us to digest and it really strains our pancreas. And, also a problem is the gravy and the stuffing, for the same reasons. Most of the veggies are okay, especially the sweet potatoes and the brocolli. But, watch out for the sauces on the veggies. A small piece of roll or bread won't hurt, but be light on the butter, please. As for dessert... skip that in favor of another piece of turkey!!!! And, you better stay away from the wine or you will be whining with a big headache.
Another thing to remember, watch where your parents put those turkey bones! Cooked turkey bones splinter really easily and can puncture your digestive system. Also, it is possible you could choke on them!!! If either of those things happen, you will be spending Black Friday visiting with your veterinarian and your pawrents will be angry... moms cuz they would rather spend the time and money on Black Friday specials and dads cuz they wanna watch all that football!!!
Soo, let's all go out and pawty hearty... but not too hearty!!! Happy Turkey day to everyone!

Today Mom and Skye took all us little ones outside together. Both Skye and Mom had cameras so they took lots of photos. Most of mine are on the other pages cuz they were with my three kids. The only one we were missing was Tyson/Winston.
In fact, when we came back inside and after Mom did all the photos up she decided to make a calendar for work using all four of my kids photos. She put my bestest show photo on the cover!! I was pretty happy cuz I am the only one who got a calendar all about ME!!!
I had a pretty good weekend... the sun was very, very warm so Mom let us stay outside almost all afternoon both Saturday and today. I lounged in the sun mostly... Winter will be here soon enough and I was trying to store up some of that warmth. The biggest problem was that stupid Holiday photo shoot. Mom had us all facing right into the sun... then she was mad cuz we kept shutting our eyes. SHE had her sunglasses on, of course!!! She put us up on a high crate so we didn't dare jump off... bet you thought we were all trained to sit still like that, huh? Hehehe, I told the truth!!!

Gee, Mom took my babies over to work today and she brought back two young adult dogs!!! That Tanner is considerably bigger than me already, and he has a thick, adult type coat with a stand-up topknot already as well. Taylor looks more like Georgie, but she even looks like a toy poodle now instead of a baby. That, coupled with the fact that Georgie is now an adult, is making me feel very, very old!!! Seems like only yesterday I was the baby! Now I have adult babies (Winston and Georgie) and young adult babies as well. Strange how that happens!
At least I am no longer responsible for them!!! All I have to do is eat and sleep and play now... no more watching out for babies and making sure the big dogs don't hurt them. I actually do need to watch out for Georgie a bit... she sometimes looks at me like she is contemplating pushing me off the top female dog pedestal I have placed myself on here. Nah, that will NEVER happen... I AM the top female dog in here and it will take a war to push me off that pedestal! Pinki is pretty sure she is top dog, but Mom lets her out with Toto and not with me so it's no problem, we can have TWO top female dogs, I guess, as long as we don't sleep in the same bed, hehehe!
Now, the top male dog status is not quite so clear... Toto thinks it's him, but Beanie KNOWS it's him, not Toto. Harvey and Barney just go with the flow... those Cresteds don't seem concerned with top dog status like us poodles... maybe they are too dumb to worry about that. Ohhh, did I say dumb??? I meant to say disinterested... yeah, right, that's what I meant!!!!

Well, I guess Mom had nightmares after looking at our photos last night, especially the one of MY hairy face. First thing this morning she sent Julie over and we all hopped into the stroller and went off to work. It took all day, but finally Mom got us all groomed and bathed. Now we are all (well, except for BEANIE) so beautiful that Mom says she will have to take new photos for our pages.
I hope she does... mine looks all icky with that sleepy stuff in my eyes and that long hair covering my nose like that. And, my top knot was hanging over my eyes. Toto likes his like that... but, we all knew he was different. Mom left us three girls with longer hair on our bodies... it's getting very cold now and she didn't want us wearing our Summer bikini cut. She cut Bubbles bracelets off, but, for some reason, left the ones on me and Georgie.
Julie finally fessed up to Mom that she put me in with Harvey and Beanie some of the time while she was gone... She said she was happy that Julie was thinking of my comfort! Yeah, those boys are sure much easier to be with than Georgie and Bubbles... and, they are cleaner, too!!! Besides, all I had to do was show my teeth and they let me have the best bed. Beanie thought it was his, but... he listened when I asked for it, hehehe!!!

Finally, Mom got home so we got to come back to the house. Frankly, I was getting a little fed up with Georgie and Bubbles. They were MY kennel mates and they were not very nice. Bubbles kept stealing all the food and Georgie kept stealing my soft bed. And, even though it was cold and rainy, those girls made us go outside for LONG times. Our Mom would have put our nice, Winter sweaters on before we went outside. Speaking of, Mom says we all look like we have Winter coats on cuz our hair is sooo long! Because she was going to be gone for so long she doubled up her grooming schedule and didn't have time for any of us. I sure hope we can get done this week!
Well, gotta go now... I need to claim my spot on the dog bed. At least when I am home I still can pull some rank!!!

This afternoon Mom took us all down to the lab yard. It was warm and sunny down there. Everyone was running all around except me. First, Mom was lying on the ground taking some photos. She had a nice, black fleece jacket on and it was sure soaking up the sun so I hopped on her back and got comfy. She would have taken my photo if she could figure out how, hehehe. I stayed there the whole time she was lying down... I swear, she took a nap, too! When she moved I looked longingly at her chair but, honestly, it was facing the wrong way and I would have had to lie in the shade. Soo, I just curled up on some soft, comfy grass and had another nap. I did have to keep one eye half open since the others were racing around so much I was in danger of being run over. Oh well, it was a nice afternoon!
